The Open University’s Institute of Educational Technology is leading the first Open Learning Design Studio MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) focusing on the theme of curriculum design with OERs, to be held between JANUARY and MARCH 2013 (confirmed). This course will be valuable for anyone seeking to develop their professional skills and experience in curriculum design, learning design and use of OERs in education. In particular the course will appeal to new and established HE and FE lecturers, to those completing professional certificates in teaching, and to researchers and managers of teaching and learning innovation.

The course aims to (1) provide a rich open learning experience for teaching and learning professionals (2) build greater skills and understandings of Curriculum and Learning Design theories and frameworks, with an emphasis on the reuse of OERs (3) help participants appreciate the need for careful educational crafting of learning experience and associated curriculum structures and (4) empower participants to become more effective educators and change agents in their own context.
