310/29/2013Rachel This product is amazing! To be honest, I just slathered it on and didn’t think much of it. Because let’s be honest, very little actually helps with redness. Then about ten minutes later it felt as though my cheeks had been numbed, not bad, just a little tingly. Well I checked the mirror and was amazed! My porcelain complexion(save my cheeks which were always red) was whole again! My cheek redness was literally gone, this is a miracle. I have had no reactions, rebounds, etc. Also, even though the product is “supposed to work fast”, don’t be disappointed if it doesn’t. The official claim say’s it may take up to two weeks to start working. Overall, i’m really excited about this product.http://rosaceaacne.wordpress.com/2013/08/27/mirvaso-approved-for-rosacea-redness/

410/29/2013XeniaHeres my story: by the way, err, I am a real person lol. Because I know people are gonna think i’m not because I actually had a good expierence. I’m shocked by these reviews, I had no idea people were rebounding so bad. And I feel sorry for them, I hope there face returns to “normal.” :(

I have been using mirvaso for three weeks:

I apply it quite generously, more than a pea sized amount for sure. I put this on in the morning just on my cheeks. It starts working after ten minutes for me, and is at it’s full effect by an hour.

My face doesn’t turn ghostly white like some peoples, it just takes the redness out and makes my red cheeks blend in with the rest of my face.

I felt no burning, rebound, etc, and I have very sensitive skin.

First time I used it the effects lasted about 8 hours, by the two week mark( which is it’s official time mark for it to stark working) I had gotten redness relief for over 12 hours.

Towards the end of the time, my face tingles, like someone numbed it. It’s hardly noticeable and doesn’t bother me.

After it has worn off my face, my cheeks become red again, but their better! At least 50-70% better than before. I have not had a problem with rebounding.

Either way i’m sorry that so many people are expierencing bad results. I just thought i’d give my honest review, because it is a miracle for me.

511/4/2013LindaI have very mild rosacea on my cheeks mostly & just been diagnosed a few months ago. I have to treat it carefully so it doesn’t get worst (inflammation). I use Mirvaso only when my face is not red or on days when I know I need it. I notice it does rebound after several hours with slight flare up but overall it works on my condition.http://rosacea-support.org/mirvaso-rebound-flushing-makes-the-news.html

611/10/2013 Greengables790I'm one of the few that seems to have consistently positive experiences with Mirvaso. Post #790 November 10, 2013 - Not really anything new to add, but still positive with Mirvaso. It's been...2 months now? I lost track. I've refilled twice now, not because I need more, but because I want to stock up while the savings card is still valid (expires end of December).
Currently I've been off of it for 5 days, because someone asked me to try that and see if I got some weird reaction. Nada. My skin is just back to its normal rosacea redness when I'm not it. So I'm going to start using it in the morning again since I miss having paler skin.

I should note I am not taking other rosacea meds to confound the results. No beta blockers, antibiotics, antidepressants, antihistamines, etc. I cleanse and moisturize my skin once a day with CeraVe cleanser and hydrating lotion.

Just to say it again, it helps decrease my state of permanent redness. It doesn't prevent flushing from my normal triggers (exercise, strange end of day flush at 5-7 pm, changes in temperature, and a few other things). But my flushing subsides a little quicker if I'm wearing Mirvaso that day.

I would like to "cure" this rosacea madness internally (instead of applying a quick fix cream), but having run that gamut on prescription and non-prescription stuff, I've just lost hope on that front for now. - Post #902 November 22, 2013 - I have had an overwhelmingly positive experience with Mirvaso. - Post #14 December 14, 2013

1311/23/2013Sal EnglishA month ago I asked my derm if there’s anything new for rosacea and she prescribed Mirvaso! After the 1st couple of days I broke out in redness below my nose so didn’t use it for a couple days. Started again and after about 4 weeks of use I’m completely sold on Mirvaso! I apply it about mid morning and it lasts all day. Only have 2 complaints: it’s rather sticky on my face and the tube is quite flimsy and hard to open so am always concerned it might “bust open”. So far, so good with the results. It’s worth a try for anyone not totally happy with what they’re currently using.http://rosacea-support.org/mirvaso-user-reviews.html

1612/3/2013LMCinSF (Laura)50Hi All:
I got a prescription for Mirvaso that I filled in early October. My dermatologist recommended I wait after FDA cleararance for a manufacturers coupon so I was able to get Mirvaso for $50/tube.

I have been following instructions; basically putting 5 small dabs on my face and applying these in the five red areas (putting slightly more on my cheeks as I get redness along the sides of my face as well) every morning. Love that white raccoon look….Not.

I wash my hands, apply Paula's choice moisturizer and then CeraVe sunblock. I don't wait 10 minutes, usually it's about 1-2 minutes max before I moisturize.

It takes about an hour for Mirvaso to reduce all the flushing, and lasts about 8-10 hours, then my normal flushing returns. Right after I apply it, I flush.

At night, if I have any alcohol, it's likely the Mirvaso has worn off and my face becomes bright red. I have not applied or re-applied in the afternoon or evening.

I have noticed that using Mirvaso seems to have changed my skin tone/color. My old makeup (BareMinerals powder) was no longer a good choice, I looked ghostly. I've had to experiment a few times with new colors/tinted moisturizers. I'd love to wear NO makeup but typically I still do put on some light makeup as my nose will still flush with sun exposure and I sit in a warmer section of the building; essentially warmer/colder temps cause me to flush.

I've been taking Oracea, applying Metrogel at night and use Acczone for pustules (which are rare). I'm happy to be adding Mirvaso to my regimen and just bought my second tube. I've not experienced any rebound, thank goodness.

1912/8/2013Darren108051I have had success w the drug so far, although I have 2 disclaimers. First, I have used No, I was just making a joke about some of these stories freaked me out. I haven't had any issues (redness, itchiness etc...) since I started using Mirvaso. for one full week. Judging from other posts, I am probably posting a bit prematurely as people have had issues w the drug after a few weeks who had initial success. But I figure I can post my first week results and then check back in after 2 full weeks. Second, I probably don't have as severe a case of rosacea as a lot of other people on here. Most of the time, my skin is fine w little to no redness at all. My problem is flare ups that come out of nowhere every one to two weeks and can be extremely embarrassing. Also, I usually have a persistent redness/itchyness on both sides of my nose and right next to my nose in addition to the flare ups. Over the thanksgiving holiday, after consuming lots of alcohol (including red wine) and playing a lot of tennis, i had the worst flare up I've ever had, which led me to finally go to the dermatologist.

So after one full week of using Mirvaso, i have had zero flare ups and my skin looks and feels the best it ever has. I haven't even had problems w the patches on the side of my nose (i can't remember the last time that area hasn't itched and been red). I've also started using cetaphil face wash and cerva moisturizer as recommended by my doc, which I really think has helped as well. When I first started putting on Mirvaso, my face would definitely react and get red w/ a slight burning sensation on my forehead. After a few days, my face got used to it and that has not been an issue at all. I even had a huge meal w a dirt martini and red wine yesterday (first alcohol since Thanksgiving) and my skin feels great.

I will report back in another week. Hopefully I have continued success, although I'm cautiously optimistic after reading a lot of other threads. Sometimes I think reading a lot of the horror stories on this forum stresses me out which then leads to a flare up. Maybe not reading these threads is the cure ha. • On December 9, 2013 Post #53: "No, I was just making a joke about some of these stories freaked me out. 2012/9/2013JordanBeen using Mirvaso for 2 weeks. Love it. I think the trick is application. Too much and you have a vampire effect. Too little and it is useless. Spread EVENLY or be splotchy! After I figured it out, I am thrilled. Nothing has ever killed this redness. I forgot what my face looked like without the redness and I truly cried the day I finally got the application right and looked in the mirror to see my facial contours instead of red puffy cheeks.
I have not had any flushing (and I was expecting it). My face just goes back to its normal state of redness if I stop using it. Nothing worse. No irritation either! I normally can’t wear anything on my face without some kind of irritation. This stuff doesn’t bother me at all. If my face is not too red I try not to use it cause I want to save it for when I really need it (like going out). If I’m staying home, why bother? I know it is just a cosmetic effect and is not curing the rosacea but, it is great to know that I can look like a normal person if I want to. The best stuff ever. So happy.

2212/14/2013Melissa I was just givne the Mirvaso last night by my Derm, he has always been right on the money for most of my treatment so I want to beleive him on this one but the comments of rebound flushing are making me quite fearful of using it regularly. I put some on when I got home last night and the results were amazing, within 20 minutes any redness that I had seemed to dimish and my skin was so even and looked great! When I got up this moring I did notice more than usual flushing on my checks but used it again. Waiting to see how it looks later this afternoon/tomorrow morning. Keeping my fingers crossed it’s my new miracle cream.http://rosacea-support.org/mirvaso-user-reviews.html

2312/17/2013anon24Please note: anon24 initially reported that Mirvaso didn't work out for him (see Sept 27 and Oct 4 reports below. Then on December 17, he changed his mind. First read his September 27 report: Well, I'm disappointed. I used visine for years and never had rebound or "flushing". I always had sort of a permanent redness to my skin, and a burning sensation, but it doesn't really look like rosacea. Mirvaso works incredibly well, there is no doubt about it. However, I wore it for one day, and now here I am 48+ hours after applying it and my skin is still acting weird. I have never "flushed" before, but I think I am beginning to see what that is like, and it's clearly from the Mirvaso. I am more red than I've ever been, and in different places then I ever had the redness. Visine never gave me rebound, this is. The terrible part is, I don't even think I'll use Mirvaso for special occasions, because if I have to deal with unpredictable skin for the next few days, that's not something I'm cool with. If I'm going to have rosacea, fine, but I'm not going to put a bandaid on it and then deal with the reprecussions when I rip that bandaid off. I'd rather look at more holistic ways to solve this problem, and at least have skin that I can predict. So now I am transitioning to focusing on dieting, and doing some Vbeam. Good luck to all of you, i hope you have better results, but I doubt I'll ever use Mirvaso again. - September 27, 2013 - This will be my final review of Mirvaso. I have already posted most of these comments on this forum, but they are now spread around 3-4 different threads, so I wanted to put it all in one place so people could get a clear, concise explanation of my experience with it.

This will detail my entire experience with it. I got the medication just a few days after it was released. Very excited about it, as I had read about Sansrosa for years, and I was the perfect test case- have permanent redness and no flushing. Plus, my derm recommended it and he is one of the best derms out there. So I first applied a test patch and was incredibly happy that it made my skin a completely normal color. I got so excited that I used the recommended dosages, and absolutely loved it. It worked as well as the pictures, maybe even better. The next day when I woke up, the redness was still reduced, at a time when I thought it would be coming back, so I thought that was awesome. So initially, it worked for about 48 hrs. Then the next morning, redness started coming back, but in patches. I thought that was no big deal, because the medication started working in patches too, so it should stop working the same way it starts working, right? The next day, my skin was still pretty red (redder than normal), but within another day, it had pretty much returned to my usual baseline. But during that "return to normal" face, I flushed, and I have never been a flusher before. I was red in areas that I had never been red before, and was more red than before as well. So a few days went by and everything went back to normal, I think, it's hard to say because I didn't take pics, but my skin wasn't reacting badly, which I thought was great. But I was still very worried about that flushing. I wondered if I had permanently damaged my skin and now I would be vulnerable to flushing in the future, and I'm still not sure what the answer to that question is. So I swore off the medication at that time. Then I read some reviews on here of people that had the same type of problem, and it seemed that the general consensus among a few users was to use much less then the recommended amount. I was thrilled about this idea. Within minutes of reading that thread, I applied a miniscule amount, which was less than 1 pea size for my entire face. In fact, it was probably closer to 1/2 pea size for the entire face. To my surprise, it worked perfectly. So I then thought, ok, I just applied too much originally and that's why the weird stuff happened like flushing, etc. So I decided that for the next 3 days I would apply it every morning. It worked beautifully for 3 days. One morning the redness started to come back in a weird way on my nose, but I simply applied the regular amount there and the medication started working immediately, and that day was terrific. But I had to see if I had solved the problem of "rebound" redness and flushing, so I wanted to take a few days off. I took some time off work, knowing that my face might look crazy. The first day off it was awesome, my skin returned to pretty much normal, until about 3PM that day, when all of the sudden my cheek started flushing, which lasted about 15 mins. I think this was when all the blood started coming back to my face, because that part that flushed is the part where my redness is the worse, so it's like it all joined up there, and then spread back evenly around my face. The flush went away, and my face went back to normal. Mind you, normal at this point, after 3 days of wearing it, was just slightly redder than my usual baseline, not a big deal, thought it would go away. My face did not act up again that day, or the next, or today. No more flushing or anything, but I am still more red than I was when I started using Mirvaso in the first place. So 3 days on the medication at a very reduced application, and 3 days off the medication, and my skin has not normalized. I hope it will be just a few more days until everything goes back to normal. I hope I can get my old (predictable) baseline back. If this recovery period only lasted a day, or 2 days max, I would be optimistic about Mirvaso, but a 3+ day recovery time for only 3 days of use is simply not sustainable, and I would guess would be bad for me in the long run. So at this point, I don't think I'll ever use Mirvaso again. I may use it here and there for special occasions. But if I don't get my baseline back to where it was and permanent damage was caused, I won't use it again. I had very high hopes for this drug, but would urge anyone to take extreme caution and proceed very slowly. I was the perfect patient for this medication, I don't usually get side effects with anything, but I did with this. So that's kind of telling. I'm going to read the reports again, but I truly think that even though they said 10% had negative reactions, I would be very surprised if anyone can use this with no negative reactions. The thing is, it's just a topical. Things are going to return to how they were before you started using it, no matter what. Even if you use it, and it works, you'll know that it's just a crutch, and once you stop using it things will probably be worse than they were to start with. I know this post was negative, and I was very optimistic about it, but I want people to be very realistic about it. Believe me, I wanted this to work as badly as anyone does, I'm so sad that it doesn't work for me, but that's life. I will continue on trying to heal myself of this, but I am now going to try to solve it from the inside out, with diet. Good luck to everyone trying this out, I sincerely hope it works for you.- October 4, 2013

Hey guys,

If you read my post history, you'll see that I had pretty bad results with Mirvaso (like most other users). Made me flush when I previously wasn't a flusher, unpredictable rebound, etc.

Well, I've been experimenting with it a bit, and I think I've figured out a way to use it and not suffer those ill effects. I have tested this twice, with good results both times.

Basically, what I'm doing is, let's say I have a special event and I want to use it so it works really well, I will use about half a pea size for my entire face, but before applying, will mix it thoroughly with Eucerin Nightly Soothing Creme (though I think other moisturizers would work just fine). So I mix those up on a piece of foil, and then evenly rub that in on m face. After 2 hours, its working very evenly and very well. The next morning, when rebound would normally appear, I will do the same thing, but apply about half as much Mirvaso this time (with the lotion of course). The next morning, (day 3), I will apply just a very very small amount with lotion.

I believ with this system, I am preventing the rebound , and tapering myself off Mirvaso over a few days. By day 4 (twice in a row now seperated by 3 weeks), I can get off Mirvaso and be back to my baseline and throughout the whole process never have rebound, flushing etc. I think tapering off the Mirvaso is the key here, because all that blood starts rushing back SO fast if you abruptly stop.

If anyone is brave enough, I am really interested in hearing if this works for other people. I had all but sworn off Mirvaso, but I can actually use it now and it's great. Let me know if you try it! - December 17, 2013 - Post #1

When he seen me without me telling him I used it, he said I looked sick. Then when I told him he said all he noticed was the dark circles under my eyes. I said thats because there isno redness in my face. It did last about 24 hours. Then by thenext evening I noticed I looked red all over my face and really red in my problem spot (cheeks). After reading other reviews, I assum it is rebound redness. Im worried about making my whole face worse. Not sure if I should get the script.

2612/20/2013 John , 45-54 Male on Treatment for 1 to 6 I've had a very good experience with Mirvaso. I've had rosacea for several years and its the only drug that has helped my appearance. I did take someone else's advice online and I dilute it a little before I put it on. It really does work!!http://www.webmd.com/drugs/drugreview-164982-Mirvaso+top.aspx?drugid=164982&drugname=Mirvaso+top&pageIndex=0&sortby=3&conditionFilter=-500

2712/25/2013Liz, 45-54 FemaleI got a prescription for Mirvaso from my doctor about 3 weeks ago. Nothing has ever helped my rosacea so I was very skeptical. He said that he read online that many people were mixing it with moisturizer before using it so that's how I started using it. It works incredibly well and I have had absolutely no problems. I never thought there would be anything that could help me until now.http://www.webmd.com/drugs/drugreview-164982-Mirvaso+top.aspx?drugid=164982&drugname=Mirvaso+top&pageIndex=0&sortby=3&conditionFilter=-500

2912/31/2013Kari15I'm new to this forum and came across it because I had started using Mirvaso and was looking for user responses. Originally, I read the Rosacea support group comments and noticed that a lot of Mirvaso users were combining it with other products before using it. Because I was also concerned about side effects, I followed someone's advice on the Support Group and it has really been a success ( I usually mix it with moisturizer and a little benadryl cream). I have not had any burning or extra redness. I was surprised to see that the person starting this thread also discovered the same sort of thing. For people who have had problems, you really might also want to try this too.http://www.rosaceagroup.org/The_Rosacea_Forum/showthread.php?30212-Successful-way-to-use-Mirvaso/page2

311/5/2014RitaI also have tried Mirvaso. It took about an hour to work and left me looking pale. I also would apply the Mirvaso followed by moisturizer and this has worked well but now my samples have run out and because I am on a Medicare Advantage plan they will not cover the $285 charge even with the discount card. Hope there is some way that the cost could be lowered.http://rosacea-support.org/mirvaso-user-reviews.html#comments

321/5/2014Sandra (via DP)I have Rosacea my doctor gave me a sample of Mirvaso. Would you believe it worked on my skin. It took my Rosacea away.My tor gave me the discount card of $50.00 and a prescription and I took it to CVS Drug store. I was told that my insurance of Excellous Medicare Blue PPO will not pay for any of the prescription.

That is unfortunate as the product works for me. It took my Rosacea away and concealed it many many hours. In fact, I have not washed my face since yesterday and it is still working. I have been suffering with Rosacea for 3 1/2 years. Is there some unforeseen way I could get in a clinical program so I could get the cream. I would even be willing to pay for it.

Please help me if you can so I don’t have to suffer with Rosacea anymore.

331/7/2014MarkAs for Mirvaso, I swear by this stuff. It’s made social events and life tolerable again. I am a dentist and have a lot of one-on-one time with patients throughout my day and am really thankful for this 0.33% gel. I’ve been using it under my daily application of neutrogena wetskin sunscreen (as a moisturizer and sunscreen dual) since it was released in US. Can’t thank Galderma enough for this product. My redness and inflammatory face issues are gone. I do have to apply it every 6 hours (in stressful situations like surgical procedures on patients or hot rooms or when drinking alcohol, maybe every 4-6 hours). The problems of other users might be that they are off-and-on users. I think this is one of those products that doesn’t cure the underlying disease, instead it doesn’t allow it to surface but only when applied. I cannot live without it. I carry the 30g tube in my pocket at all times. When I feel that burning precursory sensation of redness onset, I go into a bathroom and apply over the top of my sunscreen and the sensation of burning goes away and my face never gets red and swollen.

I even started putting it on my ears when they start burning and it feels great to not have to live with this feeling anymore.

341/14/2014BrianI have been using Mirvaso since mid November about 3 times a week as needed for social events and fortunately for me, so far, it works really well. I apply about 1/3 of the recommended pea size dose. Even if the social event is in the evening, I will apply it mid morning and then reapply mid afternoon. Doesn’t work as well if I wait until I have starting flushing already…i.e, for me, better to be preemptive with it. No side effects to report so far but I can look a little pale sometimes, but sure beats the opposite look.

I really empathize with those of you who were hoping and waiting for the miracle cure and when it finally arrived actually made things worse for you.As with any product, be it pharmaceutical or otherwise, those who have a bad experience with the product are more likely to express their frustrations in forums like and look for answers. Those who have a positive experience are less likely to participate. In that regard, I do not believe that the percentage of all users having adverse effects is a high as is seen in this forum. Probably closer to 10% rather than the 80% seen here.

Here’s hoping for a better product in the near future which everyone can use.

403/1/2014redman9876I've been using Mirvaso now for about three weeks. It has been a miracle. I have subtype I rosacea, and rarely have P&Ps. My wife commented this morning how much she liked my face. She said I was just used to you with a red face, but now it looks really nice. I have not noticed the rebound flushing everyone has been talking about. I did have a bit of a flare and it was at the end of the day when the Mirvaso wore off, but it wasn't really any more red than previously. My derm prescribed it two times per day, which seems to keep the redness completely under control. I don't have any irritation and use moisturizer after I put it on. I wash with Dermalogica ultracalming cleanser, and then use ultracalming mist, and then Mirvaso, then moisturizer. The frustrating thing is that my insurance company requires that I fail Metrogel, Finacea (which I tried and it burned like heck), and then I get covered. My derm wrote a letter and Express Scripts still wouldn't cover it. With the co-pay card from Galderma, the co-pay was only $50, because I am also covered under my wife's insurance. Regardless, its frustrating when you and your derm make a decision, try a product that works and is unique for your medical concern and the insurance companies just deny it. Metrogel and Finacea, while they sometimes decrease redness, they are not labeled as such. And at $290 per tube at the retail pharmacy, and using about 2 per month, that is a fortune to not have a red face!http://rosacea-support.org/community/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=4050&start=20

413/3/2014SandyI have been using Mirvaso for about 3 months now. I believe that it is helping me. I apply it in the morning after I shower. It makes my skin a little pink for a very short time and then I am fine. There is no redness to my skin when I wake up. If I drink anything hot, my nose seems to turn red. If I get stressed out, I sometimes start to feel selfconcious about my face. That seems to bring on more redness. It can be a vicious cycle once it starts. When I am home alone without any pressures or stress I can be fine the whole day.http://rosacea-support.org/mirvaso-user-reviews.html#comments • Also see Sandy's comment on March 9, 2014 here: http://rosacea-support.org/mirvaso-user-reviews.html#comments

433/5/2014anonymouse 207alright I've been meaning to get back on here for a few days now, i put mirvaso on again after not using it for 4 days (b/c i thought i was building a tolerance to it) friday morning at 8am, by 9am my nose was white, around 2pm i had a cup of coffee and it went back to baseline red but nothing worse, about half an hour after the coffee it was a very light pink which is good for me. I took a shower later, went back to baseline red. then at 8:30pm i put on another pea sized amount on my nose, went out, drank copious amounts of alcohol, stumbled into the bathroom to see that my nose was nearly white, about 90 percent of the redness was gone. the next morning around 6am it was the same way and by 12 pm the next day my nose was just a light pinkish color about %50 percent better than usual. so yeah that was a great experience. Haven't used it again until 8:30am this morning and it took a little longer cause i have a lot of triggers right now (stress, haven't slept, freezing weather) but its getting closer and closer to white.
also today I noticed I have zero intraocular pressure which was a common symptom for me. I think this is b/c i went with glasses instead of contacts today. so i guess the key for me is justing using it in moderation? Im gonna try using it only 3 times per week now after experimenting with it for 2 months.
Im gonna have to say this stuff has been overall positive for me.
I think Galderma made a good base for a successful product, but tried to rush it into production and were willing to take the risks of a lot of side effects because they knew this drug was far ahead of anything else in terms of what it could potentially do for you. maybe they were running out of money to spend on further research into reducing the side effects, but to produce a drug that makes every single patients face blow up? just doesn't seem like a good business strategy to me. But what do I know thats just my two cents.

recap:
-mirvaso overall has been positive for me
-companies like galderma care about profit, not you or me

for now mirvaso is all I've got and i think its a great start for future medicines down the road. Ill continue to use it sparingly until there is something better.

473/24/2014JaneI've had a very good experience with this drug, although I've found that only a very small amount is required to produce the effect. 483/28/2014TomI’ve tried Mirvaso for about 5 months now. I’m a flusher (pretty much entire face) with a wide variety of triggers. Here’s what works for me.

If I use the recommended amount for multiple sequential days, I get a set of rough red patches that take about a week to disappear while I abstain from Mirvaso. I can also get a rebound effect in the evening following a morning application.

But if I use a very small amount mixed on my fingertip with a mild regular face cream, flushing is drastically reduced with few side effects. I must be very careful not to “overdose” with Mirvaso.

514/23/2014Keri DFirst let me just say that I don’t work for Galderma. I am just a user if Mirvosa who has, so far, had good results.

I am stunned at some of the comments on here; someone said they thought this would be a cureall….seriously? When and where did Galderma claim this was a cure? There is no cure, as of yet, for Rosacea. The website for Mirvaso even says that. As with many prescription medications out there, there can be repercussions from abruptly stopping them. Also, not every medication works for everyone. I tried metrolotion and had a severe reaction to it, but I can use finacea which has significantly reduced the little red bumps.

I noticed someone on here mentioned they aren’t red all the time but they used Mirvaso and they had a bad reaction. The Mirvaso website says (and your doctor should have told you) that this is only for rosacea sufferers who are constantly red, ALL THE TIME. If your doctor prescribed it to you, then they are to blame.

I used to have redness on and off, but as I’ve gotten older (36 now), my face had become permanently red. My dermatologist gave me a few samples of Mirvaso to try. I have used a pea sized amount for my whole face (not the recommended peasize for each of the five spots). I then apply a thin layer of finacea to the areas of my cheeks where I used to get the red papules followed by cerave lotion and and spf moisturizer (I have really dry skin). The redness goes away within a half hour or so after application and it usually lasts 8 -10 hours. One it wears off I do get a bit flushed with a burning sensation. I wash my face again with a mild cleanser, rinse with cool water, reapply thin layer of finacea, cerave lotion, and my face calms down to its usual redness within 30 minutes to an hour.

The hour or so of discomfort is worth it for me to go all day at work without a red face.

555/12/2014SP1975Alright, I decided to finally post my experience after using Mirvaso consistently since about mid September 2013. I have redness and flushing symptoms. I have been a member of this forum since 2005 when I first heard of the vasoconstrictor that would become Mirvaso. I don't post much unless I feel I have something to contribute. I've had over a dozen IPL treatments, been to Dr Darms in Oregon, Ive got Dr Nases book. So far I would say that Mirvaso is an effective treatment on a day to day basis, reducing redness by at least half on some days, and closer to completely clear on others. I would give it a B- grade. Its not quite as good as I built up in my head but I'm glad to have it. It seems to prevent mild flushing and keep skin temperature down, but anything over a mild flush seems to overrun its constricting abilities, which is a bit disappointing. A far as rebound flushing I would say that its hard to tell, when I use it on days I don't work I don't seem to get any symptoms of rebound flushing, which seems consistent with study results. On days I do work I have a physical job 5 days a week and have always flushed when I get home from work anyway, this seems to coincide with Mirvaso wearing off about then, so its hard to tell if its a combo of it wearing off and my usual flushing combining. Overall I would give it a positive review, but its not the end of this condition, its a decent tool, which I hope will be tweaked for better results since its the first generation and attempt. The oxymetazoline product will be very interesting to see how it compares and what they do in response to the real world results of brimonidine. I will continue to use Mirvaso because it does reduce the redness that has plagued me for so long, but I'm also getting vbeam treatment and persuing botox along with it, as we all know this condition is very hard to treat, and I never give up. Its nice to have trials of: vasoconstrictors, botox, anti inflammatory meds, and others being trialed finally, it was too depressing when it was only metronidazole, and tetracyclines. Good luck everyone!http://www.rosaceagroup.org/The_Rosacea_Forum/showthread.php?31124-Mirvaso-experience

565/30/2014Mary ThompsonI’m on Day 4 using whitish gel formula samples, haven’t broken into my full tube of product yet. I look pale on Mirvaso but I was very light skinned to begin with. No one in the family has remarked in a negative way about my reduced color. I find it become effective about an hour after I’ve applied it. Mirvaso restores the natural paleness in all but my worst red areas, which lighten sufficiently to be covered by makeup. Because my rosacea spots become more evident when the product takes effect, and the worst red areas start to reemerge in the afternoon, I need to retouch my makeup twice during the day. I find the product very comfortable to wear. No issues with flushing. I haven’t noticed rebound but will be taking a day off soon to test for it.http://www.rosaceagroup.org/The_Rosacea_Forum/showthread.php?31124-Mirvaso-experience

575/30/2014BrandonMirvaso has been the best treatment that I have used since being diagnosed with rosacea. I have tried everything that the Dr. would prescribe. I find it unfortunate that there are people who are having negative reactions to this medication, but we all know not all medications work for all people. Now onto my experience with Mirvaso. I have been using this for 3-4 months now and when I first started using it it turned my cheeks more of a pale white color. This didn’t last… I gave it time and now I don’t get pale white. The cream controls my rosacea very well, however I do have occasional flare ups when stressed or in a hot room. Ill take the occasional flare up over the lack of success I have had with any of the other medications. I use the cream every morning (about 1/4 pinky nail sized) along with cerave a very good lotion that my dermatologist recommended (maybe a thumb nail sized). BTW this is X2 one for each cheek. I rub that on my cheeks nose and between my eyebrows where I have the redness. I will sometimes show a little red like after I run… but even people without rosacea get red when they run. I am also on Minocycline I think that is due to the fact that I also had a really bad stye on my eyelid, but I think it also helps with rosacea. If anyone has any questions please feel free to message me on here. I know how much having rosacea sucks!http://www.rosaceagroup.org/The_Rosacea_Forum/showthread.php?31124-Mirvaso-experience

586/22/2014Elise, 35-44 FemaleAt first,I had ups and downs with Mirvaso. I thought I wanted to stop using it because it worked better in some situations than others. I then read a post about someone who combined it with Metrogel or Finacea and other posts from people who used it with moisturizer or even antihistamine cream. I tried experimenting with these methods and discovered that they were effective. It took a while, but I found that a small amount of Mirvaso goes a long wayand is still highly effective in eliminating redness. I think Mirvaso is a truly revolutionary drug.http://www.webmd.com/drugs/drugreview-164982-Mirvaso+top.aspx?drugid=164982&drugname=Mirvaso+top&pageIndex=0&sortby=3&conditionFilter=-500

597/3/2014 grandmachris, 55-64 FemaleGosh, I don't know what to think now. I have always had flushed skin, my whole body gets extremely hot and I perspire a lot, especially around my head. This makes me not only red but wet as well! I have only used the Mirvaso for a week and so fay it seems to be working, calming my skin and stopping the redness. My Doc said to use it every morning, when dry go ahead and apply moisturizer and make-up as usual. But I only use moisturizer at night because anything that covers my face makes me hot and sweat more. For the same reason, I don't use foundation. Have those of you who use this gel along with Metrogel told the doctors? How do they feel about combining the drugs? I just have my fingers crossed that this along with a high SPF face cream will stop me from looking like a clown!http://www.webmd.com/drugs/drugreview-164982-Mirvaso+top.aspx?drugid=164982&drugname=Mirvaso+top&pageIndex=0&sortby=3&conditionFilter=-500

607/8/2014misnomer1306I've been using Mirvaso for around 3 months+ for permanent redness on the nose. I'd recommend trying it, however expect some rebounding and don't expect a miracle cure. Unfortunately, it doesn't effect thread veins. The lack of inflammation tends to make these more prominent in appearance and also shows up just how ruddy the skin is.

The dilating effect lasts alot longer than 12 hours in my case, making the rebound a little unpredictable. There's been a handful of occasions where my nose has rebounded at unfortunate moments. As a result, I would apply it daily, sometimes twice a day (before going out.) The rebounding effect doesn't always occur in my case. The potency/effectiveness of Mirvaso also appears to have lessened over this time for me. Whether this may be due to overlapping use with a rebound, I'm not sure. I've (occasionally) felt the need to put more than the recommended dose on.

That said, on a bad day Mirvaso can be a life-saver and i'd certainly suggest giving it a trial, if only for those social moments where you're feeling particularly self-conscious.

629/4/2014JoSaw a French site where someone said they combined aloe vera gel and Mirvaso. I experimented with it and it helped me better than straight Mirvasohttp://www.webmd.com/drugs/drugreview-164982-Mirvaso+top.aspx?drugid=164982&drugname=Mirvaso+top&pageIndex=1&sortby=3&conditionFilter=-500

649/16/2014ValI use Mirvaso for my rosacea but I saw this online for anyone having laser: BEST NEWS IN YEARS!- Mirvaso!!!! I can’t tell you this will work for you. But I had just had a laser treatment done and 2 months later I was still having a tough time with Redness! My rosacea was slightly better by approx. 50 percent. And I was still red and blotched. I called my Doctor and I told him this was just approved. He called it in and I used it! WOW! Amazing. I wouldn’t use it everyday. But along with the other products, treatments, and life style changes. It worked amazing! Use as directed! But all and all. It was amazing! DO your research and check it out. Good Luck!! – MIRVASO!!!?http://www.webmd.com/drugs/drugreview-164982-Mirvaso+top.aspx?drugid=164982&drugname=Mirvaso+top&pageIndex=0&sortby=3&conditionFilter=-500

6510/6/2014sammax1111Using it for 3 months - LOVE IT !!!! You need to experiment with it to see what works for you. I had a very red face....could not go out without makeup..it has been that way ever since I could remember. The Mirvaso pales out my skin and I have an even skin tone when I do not wear makeup. However, using Mirvaso when my triggers happen (sun, stress, etc) turns my face beat red. Sooooo I experimented and found that when I wear liquid makeup over the Mirvaso (you need to wait at least 20 minutes between the two)& one of my triggers happen...it looks BEAUTIFUL!!! ...the best way I can equate/explain it is when you bend over for 30 secs. to brush your hair and then stand straight flipping your hair back and the blood has rushed to your face..It looks great..The makeup keeps it looking even. I am so glad I did not give up when I turned red that 1st time. Good Luck !!http://www.webmd.com/drugs/drugreview-164982-Mirvaso+top.aspx?drugid=164982&drugname=Mirvaso+top&pageIndex=0&sortby=3&conditionFilter=-500

6610/7/2014groovygalI have used Mirvaso for over a year now. I can't use oral antibiotics so this medication is free to me because I have Medical. This has been a miracle drug for me. I use it EXACTLY as prescribed and my face looks like it did when I was 16. I always had a 'peaches and cream' complexion until Rosacea hit me at 40 years old. I used everything out there and this is the only thing that really worked.http://www.webmd.com/drugs/drugreview-164982-Mirvaso+top.aspx?drugid=164982&drugname=Mirvaso+top&pageIndex=0&sortby=3&conditionFilter=-500
