It talks about the past and also expresses why the purpose of Mestizo psychology is important. Now I know however that I probably won't be focusing to much on psychology,

(September 1, 2011). http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1G2-3405800108.htmlThis was interesting because it shed to light some of the reasons why Mexicans chose not to acculturate. I felt like all the reasons that they gave all made sense. For example the fact that Mexico is close to the US makes it harder for Hispanics to just forget about where they cam from.

It took into consideration the defensive for Latinos, but other then that it didn’t really talk about anything relevant to my subject.

When something was more complicated mothers tended to be more authorative. Chicanos tend to be more permissive then Anglo-Saxons. This article was interesting because many Chicanos that belong in a minority are not succeding so their racing may have been a part of the factors.

9/46ARTL (article) Azteca/Mexica, "Are Chicanos the Same as Mexicans?" The Azteca/Mexica Web Page. Web. 04 Sept. 2011. <http://www.mexica.net/chicano.php>.Identity is really complicated and a lot of these definitons weren't the same as the ones I had learned. It may be bias in a sense because everyone has an opinion in the matter. It was very in depth.

This article talks about the differences between Mexican-Americans and Chicanos. It discusses the generilization of both ethnicities, and I found it very interesting. Also, some of the ideas were quite complicated and it confused me, but I got the point of it!

Web. 08 Sept. 2011. <http://www.chicanoparksandiego.com/history/page1.html>.It's an inspirtational article. People back then were passionate about their goals and worked as a community to gain them. What the governement did to them was unfair. All that they simply wanted is a park, they werent asking for a raise in pay or anything like that. Yet, still the governemnet was cautious.

Psychological experiment that tests college students and their relationships and stereotypes to Mexican-Americans (hispanics). Mostly all of the students were white and it turned out that many believed that M.A. lacked intelligence compared to non-white Hispanics. They were also letting the Implicit Association Test, which seemed to work but I don't particullarly care about.

Created and Written by Luis Valdez. !970. http://stream.library.ucsb.edu/visual/1000/1143/cusb-v1143b.movThis play shows the typical stereotypes of Mexican-Americans. It shows a lady who wants to buy a Mexican, but doesn’t like the models because they don’t fit the requirement. In the end she buys the totally whited-out Mexican, who has acculturated into becoming Mexican- American. It turns out that the models were actually humans and not puppets. They demonstrate encouraging words and tell that they must stay strong since there are more Chicanos on the way.

Hispanics who go to college get a better income then those who dont. GED wont count!

Maybe they are not confident in themselves.

Web. 20 Oct. 2011.This article wasn't as useful as I thought it would be, Apparently gender roles will impact who a child will be most motivated by academically. In the end the most important variable was the teacher motivation for both groups. This makes me think that teachers need to find ways to do this. This process of hiring educators must be reformed.

From this I somewhat understand how organization should run. They should not charge! It should have some purpose. They believe that there is a correlation between music and academics. This may be true! I think that it depends on the kids of art.

This means that instead of investing to community colleges they can fund basic education. That would mean that people wouldn't be limited to considering community colleges but instead have plenty more options.

I think that our society is always seperating form each other and that it why it is wrong. We should become a community as one, but how can we?

In this part the actors who is an asian, mexican, and african american present stereotypes about them. What I got from this was that in places where there are minorities and people living in poverty it is very likely for bad things to happen. This abuse scandal is going to impact them in the future. My question is are these young Latinos still going to be able to pursue higher ed. with all the terrible things that happened to them?

4/16/201255INTERCarrillo, Carlos. Personal Interview. April 6 2012 This interview was interesting and basically summarized all of the different topics that I have covered through out my journey. I was interested to see if any of his opinions had changed from the beginning and it seems like it really hasn't. He still believes that community is the key and without it we can not go anywhere.

Romney is trying to convince them that he is not as far right as everyone thinks he is.

April 19 2012. http://hispanic.cc/where_latino_votes_will_matter_in_2012.htm.Very interesting facts! 30% of Californians who can vote are Latinos. Yet there are 2 million that still have not registered. I think that it is ridiculous. In Arizona more Latinos registered to vote - in order to take matters into their own hands. Latinos will influence 10 states in the 2012 election. We have so much power!

Apparently Latinos that earned more then $50,000 actually benefited from the economic recession. It also said that many Hispanics are wanting to become bicultural rather than just Hispanics. The fact is that we have power! If we stop buying products we will impact the economy. It shows that Latinos are not powerless

May 1 2012. http://vidayfamilia.univision.com/es-el-momento/educate/noticias/article/2011-10-22/la-educacion-de-los-hispanosGreat article! That talked about solutions to the education crisis and they said that people need to understand or start being informed that the sake of our country is tied into the education of Latinos. They also emphasized that students have to graduate, learn english, and remain knowing spanish.

Adler School of Professional Psychology). ProQuest Dissertations and Theses, http://search.proquest.com/docview/868852861?accountid=10357Amazing article that explained why parents who lived in poverty had a hard time educating their kids. They explained that poverty meant lack of resources/education and therefore they were not able to provide their kids with tools that could help them develop their intellect better at a young age unlike wealthy parents. It also explained that rich parents can provide them with additional simulation like camps that allowed kids to be more assertive when approaching adults.

ProQuest Dissertations and Theses, http://search.proquest.com/docview/305177297?accountid=10357This was also very informative. I loved how great some Latino/a parents are and are able to do anything for their kids! They agreed that there were 6 important themes: leadership & parenting, family & culture, communication, partnerships & networks, background & knowledge, and information and resources. These are all great things that parents should take into consideration like sacrifice.

They gave tips to parents on what they should teach their kids before leaving to college like cooking, cleaning, etc. I expected more, but something that I liked was that they said that parents should remind their kids why they were going to college.

I personally think that this campaign is great, but in order to make a huge change then this education has to be known by everyone. I appreciate how different organizations are members of this!

Clearly if there is a difference in Latinos there is a larger difference in non-Latino teaching styles. I guess that at the end of the day everyone has their own methods, but parents must remember that their goal is to create good citizens.

It was kinda weird how they basically described I-Poly by talking about team work and problem based learning.
