Mentoring plan: Explain how you plan to work with the student to accomplish the summer project goals. It should include a plan for training, general guidance through regular meetings, and monitoring progress, as well as any other mentoring and support plans. (150-word limit)

Training certifications and approvals: SURF students will be required to complete an appropriate Responsible Conduct of Research course available through CITI. Please check which one applies, as well as any other training or approvals needed for this project.

Ensure that the necessary resources are available to carry out the described project.

Verify that necessary student training is completed and project approvals are attained.

Mentor the student as described in the mentoring plan.

Assist the student in conducting a scholarly project.

Ensure that the project is written or presented in a format appropriate for your discipline.

Prepare the student to present the project as a poster or other appropriate exhibit in the Undergraduate Research Symposium.

Document your approval of student work deadlines during the SURF program.
