Chippewa Valley Artist Relief Fund
If you are an artist/creative, living in the Chippewa Valley, in need of support due to event/gig cancellations, the inability to sell your work/book shows, and/or lost revenue from your day job being eliminated from the coronavirus outbreak, please fill out this form.
We are currently distributing funding for people working in performing arts, visual arts, digital arts and other creative fields. If you are unsure if you fall into a creative field category it's ok, we recommend filling out the application to see if you fit into these categories
We are not currently distributing funding for people working in healing arts or cosmetic arts.
This may change as more funding becomes available, but this is the lens we are applying for now.
A few important notes:
1. All applications will remain confidential and will only be shared with our team responsible for reviewing applications. Your info/needs will never be posted publicly.
2. Currently, we are capping individual distributions at $500, however, if funds are available to increase this amount we will do so. Our goal is to make disbursements once per month depending on funds received. Applications will be reviewed weekly, and we plan to keep this fund going until we things go back to normal.
3. If you don't fill out the application fully, your application may be rejected. We will email you to let you know (if you provided an email address) so you can send in a full application. If you applied, were approved, and don't get assistance that day or the day after, please be patient - it just means we're still working on it.
4. We are not awarding money based on “merit” i.e. our opinions of an applicants’ work but rather on my based on need. We will try to help as many artists with need in the Chippewa Valley as we can, with priority given to Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) artists, transgender & nonbinary artists, and disabled artists.
5. We want to help as many people as possible, this means that we will likely be unable to provide the full amount of larger requests. The amount we can provide is based on our donations received, the amount of requests we have, and the requests we project will come in the near future.
Thank you for being you. We all have to get through this for any one of us to get through this.
If you can think of other ways that the community can support you, please be sure to include this in the final section of the form.
This fundraiser is in solidarity with and created with support from Heather Cook and her org NorthStar Church of the Arts, who launched a similar relief fund to support artists in Durham, NC. Thank you for laying the groundwork.
