The Florida Aquarium is proud to announce the first public cleanup led by the Student Environmental Action League (S.E.A. League). The S.E.A. League is a youth-led, action-based volunteer group at The Florida Aquarium - their mission is to empower teens to take action for our environment. By participating in this cleanup, not only are you helping the Aquarium protect and restore our blue planet, you are helping to strengthen and support the S.E.A. League's mission!
We will be measuring the impact of our cleanup by evaluating what kinds of debris are recovered, as well as weighing and estimating the volume collected. There will be paper plate awards!
The S.E.A. League is very grateful for the support and participation of everyone who assists with this critical cleanup of one of our shared resources and would like to especially shout out the Tampa Bay History Center's Teen Council for their involvement in developing the paper plate awards and sharing their perspective on Tampa's rich history; Frameworks' Teens In Action and the Mayor's Youth Corps and Leadership Council for their participation and continued support; and Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful for their assistance with logistics!
We ask that you come with a willingness to meet fellow conservation- and service-minded folks and to get dirty in the pursuit of healthier waterways!

Cleanup Date: December 8, 2018
Location: Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park on the Riverwalk in Downtown Tampa
Registration: begins at 8:30 a.m.
Cleanup: 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
What to Wear/Bring:
- Closed-toe shoes
- Hat/Sunglasses
- Long pants are recommended for crawling in mangroves
- Reusable water bottle (water coolers will be provided, single-use water bottles will NOT)
- Sunscreen/bugspray
We Will Provide:
- Gloves
- Debris collection devices (bags or buckets, as appropriate)
- Water coolers
CHILDREN UNDER 16 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A PARENT OR GUARDIAN. PARENTS ARE ASKED TO SIGN A LIABILITY WAIVER BEFORE THEIR 16-18 YEAR-OLD CHILD PARTICIPATES IN THE CLEANUP. PLEASE CONTACT YOUR GROUP'S LEADER OR REBECCA HUGHES (
