Searching for Our Heritage Database Museums Unit – Government of Yukon Government

Nyla Klugie-Migwans is a member of the Selkirk First Nation from Pelly Crossing, Yukon.  She is the current Yukon First Nation Heritage Advisor for the Government of Yukon.

Nyla has worked on a continued projected called, “Searching for our Heritage Database”.  Currently the Museums Unit has worked with over 79 museums across the world to identify possible artifacts that maybe linked to the 14 First Nations in Yukon.  The goal is to assist First Nations to identify if these links are connected to community or families.  Thru this project, some Yukon First Nations have recreated objects or repatriated objects back to their respected communities.  The site is used as a teaching tool that can inspire community and individuals on finding possible links to their community and heritage.

Cost: Free.   Scroll down to register.
