Thank you for your nomination for the 2021 Excellence Awards in the division of student affairs. The divisional awards committee looks forward to reviewing your nomination.
Presented annually at the last Division meeting of the year, the Divisional Excellence Awards recognize a wide range of professionals across the Division, as well as a few select individuals outside of the Division, for their outstanding service to students, colleagues, and the Institution as a whole. Annual awardees join a larger community of past recipients, whose legacy at Boston College is remembered and revered by those who were transformed through their leadership. We encourage you to nominate those exceptional individuals you work alongside in your area of student life at Boston College. These awards are an opportunity for us as a community to recognize our colleagues who consistently go above and beyond in their role- those who show up for our students and for us without request and without fail, those who are constantly striving to improve both their programs and themselves, those who uphold the spirit and mission of our University, those who make Boston College better just by being who they are. We all know that while indispensable, our work is often arduous and thankless. Please help us to show our collective gratitude for the Division’s unsung heroes by nominating them for an award.
There are four categories of awards:
Excellence in Performance
Excellence in Service to Students
Excellence in Communications
Graduate Assistant Awards
The Excellence in Performance awards recognize exceptional work in program effectiveness and innovation. These are evidence-based awards that can demonstrate that the program or service has contributed to student life at Boston College in a significant way. The Service to Students awards recognize extraordinary effort and good spirit within the division of student affairs to further our work with students. The Communications awards recognize innovative and effective use of marketing and social media strategies to communicate with students and other constituencies about the programs and services of the division. Graduate Assistant awards acknowledge the hard work, ingenuity, and commitment of our graduate assistants. These awards are given for excellence in the current academic year.
External to the division is the Outstanding Campus Partner Recognition
This honor recognizes a faculty member, staff member, or administrator outside of the division who has effectively contributed to the integration of the academic and co-curricular experiences of Boston College students. Examples could include advising a non-academic group, accompanying students on a service-related or cultural trip, or showing special support of co-curricular learning opportunities for students. This individual may have also engaged in a successful partnership with staff from the Division of Student Affairs.
We ask that each department within the Division submit one nomination for Outstanding Campus Partner. All individuals who are nominated will be invited to and recognized during the awards ceremony.
