Index 2022 - Open Call For Online Works
Index is a Biennial of Art and Technology, part of the program of the city of Braga as a UNESCO Creative City for the Media Arts.
We are interested in exploring artistic practices and critical thinking in which technology assumes a central role.
The 2022 edition of Index will thematically explore the notion of Surface. Either as visual platforms or haptic entities, boundaries or interfaces, zones of emergence or extraction Surfaces represent vital elements of both human and natural ecosystems. They also constitute powerful metaphors for artistic practices concerning technology, raising important issues that urgently need to be addressed.
This open call aims to select and support artistic proposals in the intersection between Art and Technology with close affinities with the biennial’s theme, to be exhibited online.
More than just a transposition of works and conventional presentation formats to a virtual domain, we are looking for proposals that explore the possibilities and specificities of the online ecosystem as an exhibition platform for art works.
