Teaching with Technology: Engaging students in Remote Synchronous Classroom Settings
Participants are invited to join Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) for a three-part series focusing on ways to use instructional technologies to engage students in a remote synchronous (RS) classroom setting. Strategies, best practices, resources, and tools for enhancing communication, collaboration, and active learning in a remote synchronous setting will be shared and discussed during the session. Each part of the series will be offered on two different dates. Participants can choose which parts of the series to attend, you do not need to attend all 3.

Part 1: Penn State RS Requirements & Overcoming Challenges -  In this session participants will learn about the Penn State parameters for teaching in the remote synchronous mode and discuss ways to approach common challenges of teaching in a remote synchronous classroom.

Part 2:  Identifying Opportunities and Technologies - Participants will create a course outline that explains RS opportunities to collaborators, administrators, and students. Participants will also be introduced to different technologies and strategies to accomplish their course goals.

Part 3: Implementing RS Activities - Participants will bring examples of activities they would like to try in their remote synchronous classroom settings. Participants will discuss ways to use interactive activities to monitor student comprehension in the remote synchronous mode.

Penn State encourages persons with disabilities to participate in its programs and activities.
