Digitization Requests
For History of Art faculty. Please allow 2 weeks for order fulfillment; rush services may be available.

Copyright notice: you are responsible for the fair use of requested digitized materials. We can provide guidance on fair use guidelines. We suggest:

-- Text / PDF scans: limit to approximately 10% of a volume, or one chapter / article. Share only on a password-protected website, such as Brightspace.

-- Image scans: for artworks made after 1928, do not share unless on a password-protected website

-- Videos: unless they are short clips of a longer work, do not allow students to download the video file. Also please note, many DVDs are encrypted to prevent duplication so we may not be able to make digital copies of certain titles.

Most materials created before 1929, and certain others, are in the public domain and may be digitized / shared in full. Please contact molly_schoen@fitnyc.edu with any questions.

Material(s) to be digitized: *
Please include all necessary information to complete your order. For text, include title, author, and page numbers. For book images, please indicate which specific images should be scanned--whether it's a list of figures, a general description (e.g. "only scan the color plates"), or a note indicating that you've flagged the selected images in the book itself. For video clips, include the time markers.
Location of originals: *
If you are in the office, please leave them on top of the file cabinets outside of Nanja's office with a note so no one else takes them. If you would like us to pick them up from the Library, please make sure we will be able to check them out (i.e., make sure they are not on reserve.)
Returning your materials: *
Indicate where you would like us to return your originals--your mail folder? Somewhere else in the office? Return to library?
