Bob & Carol Thompson Scholarship
Gary Hewitt ‘76 and Shirley Thompson Hewitt ‘77 established this fund in honor of her parents for their dedication to and love for their Catholic faith. They were married for 67 years and raised 5 children. Bob was an active Catholic his entire life and his wife Carol became a devoted Catholic upon their marriage. They were members at St. Jude Church and later St Mary’s Church Elyria for 64 years. They were also very active members of the Knights of Columbus Council 774. The gift of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ as our savior is the greatest gift one can give or receive. Our parents established and nourished this gift our entire lives. This scholarship is to honor their memory and to honor a student who believes very strongly in and is an exemplary model of living their Catholic faith.
