DECEMBER 12, 2023 6:00 PM: HOW TO SAVE AND PAY FOR COLLEGE - Join Jason Stronz, Financial Advisor from Jamestown, and Karen Fuller from JCC as they discuss strategies on how you can start saving for college now and how to pay for college. Whether or not you've already put aside money for your child's college expenses, learn about the potential savings options and the benefits and advantages of each.
JANUARY 9, 2024 6:00 PM: VAPING IN MIDDLE SCHOOL: SIGNS YOUR CHILD IS VAPING - Join Alexis Carlson from the Jamestown Police Department and School Resource Officer for the Jamestown School district, as she discusses what vaping devices look like and how to identify signs your child is vaping. Vaping has started as early as elementary school and is prevalent in middle school. Health effects will also be discussed.
FEBRUARY 6, 2024 6:00 PM: COLLEGE CONNECTIONS: How to earn credit for high school and college at the same time with College Connections at JCC. Join Jade Barber, Director of High School Partnerships, as she explains how your high school student can earn college credits at JCC while in high school.
MARCH 5, 2024 6:00PM: WHAT IS TALLO AND DIDIAMP? Join Melissa Himes, Director of Dream It Do It, as she explains Dream It Do It Advanced Manufacturing Program (DIDIAMP) and the on-ramps in 8th - 9th grade.
DIDIAMP is designed to connect, enrich, challenge and reward students on their way to manufacturing career pathways. TALLO is the backbone software being deployed in the region for program enrollment and electronic badging technology. All parents should have an understanding of this as career exploration begins.
