Lou Rotunda Scholarship
Mr. Lou Rotunda was a man whose service and dedication to Elyria Catholic High School over a span of 50
some years earned him the moniker, “Mr. EC.” Most of his adult life found him immersed in the lives of the
students he loved through the roles as teacher, coach and friend. Mr. Rotunda is the most perfect example of
the vibrant life of the Elyria Catholic mission built upon the pillars of Excellence, Compassion, Faith, Tradition
and Community. He is and will forever be a living spirit of the legacy of “a loyalty that never dies.” This
scholarship was funded and will continue to grow from the generous gifts of the many alumni whose lives he
has touched.

Criteria
  • Applicant must be a freshman at Elyria Catholic who has enrolled for sophomore year.
  • Applicant must demonstrate financial need via a FACTS Grant & Aid application
  • Applicants family must have applied for the EdChoice Scholarship Program.
  • Applicant must have academic achievement consistent with his/her potential.
  • Applicant must have participated in extra-curricular activities and performed community service.
Award
Two students will receive $1,000 (final award amount subject to change based on student need) applied directly to their tuition for the next academic year.
