Encore! Theater Group (ETG) program Encore4Kidz, a local south city company, will host a “Drama
Therapy” summer camp at Thomas Dunn Learning Center. The Drama Therapy camp will use drama
techniques and theater methods to enable youth to build: 1) self-exploration and confidence for
oneself, 2) soft and hard skills, and 3) holistic development to foster empathy through the arts. By
fostering empathy among youth, we believe this is one of the core foundations to instill civic pride and a
sense of belonging in one’s own community.  As a result of being in this camp, program participants will
also be involved in a final project that displays their skills learned and the opportunity to create their
own play to display to the community.
