Description: Chanel Thervil's Quarantine Self-Care Series is a multimedia project that highlights the ways people of color are navigating the nuances of self-care, survival, and new realities as a result of COVID-19 via interview, installation, photos, and video. A key component of this was the Instagram Live event Portraits & Pajamas, where she did an unveiling of the portrait and interview of the person depicted while wearing silk pajamas.

The first portrait in the series was of Cambodian-American photographer Mel Taing, which is now on view as a part of In Place. Over a year later, they are reuniting to share how their work and self-care practices have evolved. We encourage you to join us (preferably in pajamas) to tap into ways creatives of color continue to move forward despite the unknown.
