Minutes
1. Review minutes of 1/18/2012 and approve.
2. Overview of agenda for 3/29/2012
3. Review recent LSC Champ meets
- Regional meets - meets ran well, talk about awards, discussion about the philosophical underpinnings of the meet.
- resolved to award medals top 8, ribbons 9-16, relays top 8 ribbons only, score the meet and post, no award
- bonus swim change was good
- new relay rules helped control meet size was good
- event order - moving the relay was good, but need to consider event order again
- maybe take the meet breaks out or shortening
- meet size ok maybe a little big spectator-wise
- reduce individual swims to 6 swims rather than 7 - begins summer 2012 - heads up may be more ties for high point
- agreed that the meet is too big, cuts across the board with power points to aim to 700 senior kids - Jake will take a crack and be compensated, move the sprint relay from AM on Friday to PM on Friday.
- accept $100 late fee for all LSC Championships beginning summer 2012
4. 2013 Champ Meets preview
- 12 & U at Madison - Natatorium restrictions - no more than 216 on deck
5. Review / report WI/IA Senior Boys Camp - still planning to do it in the fall, and also a little kid camp.
6. Section 1 Summer Champs info available
7. Registration Fees WI and USA
- no WI Swimming increase in 2013
8. Review: Procedures for Champs - George
- Alternates in C, B or A finals - no change in the rule
- Penalties for relay no shows - change rule to follow national guideline of no penalty
- generally LSC champ meets were well officiated
