370z DIY bypass Instructions US2010-2011

The connector in question is on the back on the AV unit

The wires we are interested in are:

The Navigation override is the simplest as it just involves putting a switch in-line between the speed sensor and the AV unit. Breaking the connection fools the AV unit in to thinking that the car isn't moving.

Note: There is a consequence of this, which is that while the circuit is broken the navigating system relies solely on the GPS and doesn’t update location as quickly or as accurately as normal.

The DVD Override is similar to the Navigation override but rather than just breaking the connection the brake sensor wire from the AV unit needs to be grounded to again fool the AV unit in to thinking that the parking brake is on.

Note: On some cars/year models the DVD override also requires the navigation override. Basically what happens in this case is the DVD override allows you to watch a video source with the parking brake off but as soon as the car starts moving >5mph the video is interrupted again. In this case really the DVD override isn’t much use without the NAV override and therefore people connected both in one two pole switch
