Yvonne Topp Taft

Yvonne T. Taft (nee Topp) beloved wife of the late Harold T. Taft, formerly of West Hartford died Thursday (February 17, 2011) of natural causes at Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville, MD. She was born in Hartford, daughter of the late Herbert G. and Maria A. Topp. Yvonne was a graduate of Saint Augustine School, Hartford, class of 1936, Mount Saint Joseph Academy, West Hartford, class of 1940 and a local business school. She was retired from the Bank of New England (CBT) as Vice President of the Trust Department after 41 years of service. Yvonne is survived by her stepdaughter, Ella Mae Powers; daughter-in-law, Joan D. Taft, widow of stepson, Lewis G. Taft; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and a great- great grandchild, as well as many cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday (March 12, 2011) at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church at Charlestown Retirement Community. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Yvonne may be made to Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, 713 Maiden Choice Lane, Catonsville, MD 21228, the Charlestown Benevolent Care Foundation, 711 Maiden Choice Lane, Cantonsville, Md 21228 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
