LANDMAN LIBRARY CONTINUITY PLAN
Updated 6/8/2021
Landman Library will continue to be open to the Arcadia community this summer! All current hours and summer closures will be updated regularly on our website.
Thanks to strong vaccination coverage within our community, along with continued health precautions such as hand washing and staying home if sick, Landman is happy to return to full capacity in all areas of the library! As social distancing measures have been mostly eliminated, the library is still requiring all individuals to wear a mask while indoors at all times, regardless of vaccination status. Food is also restricted at the moment but covered beverages are allowed. Access is still limited to current students and employees with an active KnightCard.

With full capacity restored Landman will also no longer require reservations for individual seats in the library, however the study rooms will remain reservable for up to 3-hour blocks and for up to four people. Access has also been restored to the stacks, allowing patrons to once again browse the collection and check items out at the circulation desk. Landman will also continue to offer our Books2Go service for our print materials and interlibrary loan items.
As always, all library services, including one-on-one research consultations and research and information literacy instruction, will continue to be available virtual and in-person this summer. You can find more information regarding All-Modes teaching, learning, and research resources and services here. Library faculty remain fully accessible this summer to provide research and instructional support for students, faculty, and staff whether they are on campus or remote. This is in addition to our online databases and resources, which are always available from on campus or away and include hundreds of thousands of ebooks, streaming films, academic journals, and more.
If you have questions, need research support, or want to schedule research and information literacy instruction, contact reference@arcadia.edu or visit arcadia.edu/library.
Faculty of the library are available for students, faculty, and staff via email, phone or Zoom, for any research, reference, or instructional support!
You can connect to us through our Research Consultation Form, or contact your department’s liaison:
Summer 2021 Hours [begin Monday, May 17th]:
Monday - Thursday: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Friday: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Saturday & Sunday: CLOSED
Library Access Policy:
All community spaces in the library building (open reading areas, study carrels, lower level, etc.) will follow the health and safety protocols for all student community spaces (such as the dining hall, the Kuch Commons, and any lounge or other community space), including:
All online resources and databases are fully accessible 24/7 off-campus using your Arcadia email and password. This includes hundreds of thousands of ebooks, streaming films, academic journals, and much more. Please contact us if you have any difficulty with access to these resources. Our Research and Subject Guides are also great resources!
Books2Go is our print collection service. Community members can place requests for books by logging into the online library catalog or filling out the interlibrary loan form and will receive notifications when items are ready. Our staff will retrieve the items for you, and either place them in a bag with your name on it in our vestibule for contactless pick-up if you are approved for campus access or mail them to you if not. Requests placed by 12pm Monday through Friday will be available for pick up or dropped in the mail at 2pm that same day.
If you still have a print book checked out, you can drop these off at our book drop without coming into the building or continue to hold on to these materials as you are not accruing overdue fines and we continue to adjust due dates.
Research consultation form is a great way to schedule one-on-one research support. Faculty of the library are ready to assist you via Zoom, email or phone!
This continues to be available for all courses and instructors. Use this form, or contact your departments’ liaison.
Interlibrary loan for articles remains in service, while print book interlibrary loan is currently suspended. If you currently have an interlibrary loan book that is due or will be due, please hold on to it and contact us.
Our institutional repository features scholarship from Arcadia faculty, staff, and students, and will be hosting the second Virtual Capstone Showcase this Spring, highlighting culminating papers, projects, and presentations from many participating departments.
