Podcasting at Augustana University

Podcasting is a great way for you to get information, creative ideas, or just good dialogue out to a targeted audience.  Fortunately, Augustana has the ability to produce and publish professional-sounding podcasts that will make its way to all major streaming platforms.

I would encourage you to do some reading about how to host a podcast.  This article, How to Plan a Podcast Episode, is a great starting point.  I’d also encourage you to check out our free podcasting host site by Spotify.

After reading those articles, you may be thinking, “Hey, I think I can do a podcast on my own.”  You absolutely can, and I’d encourage you to go for it as learning the technological workflow is very rewarding and empowering.  If you’re feeling like you’d like to learn more, consider taking AVID 210 - Pro Tools Fundamentals I.  This class will give you all the tools you need to record your own podcast and much more.

Perhaps you’re thinking, “I wish I had the time to learn this, but I’d rather collaborate with the Multimedia Entrepreneurship program.”  Well, fantastic!  That’s what we’re here for.  We offer the entire suite of services you might need, and all you need to do to get started is fill out this form.  After you fill that out, an estimate will be generated for your requested services.

As you keep planning, here are some other creative ideas to consider:

  1. What is the title of your podcast?
  2. Do you have a logo or thumbnail art?
  3. Do you have intro/outro music?

We can help you with all of this, but you may have friends or colleagues with whom you’d like to collaborate.
