automotive technicians normally work in a dealership or garage, but with this experience there are many careers that are similar to this field. some of these might be working for a pit crew,on military vehicles or building custom engines and vehicles for a living. the possibilities are seemingly endless.

there are many stem fields that are related to automotive technology. with an automotive background you can get a job as a automotive technician, diesel technician, motorcycle technician or marine technician to name a few. you could also work on a race team, test drive cars, or be a car salesman. some of these jobs may require more education than the others but they're all related to automotive technology.

a basic automotive technicians salary is in the range of 35,000k a year. although you can go to school to become a master mechanic to make almost double that, or you could work for a higher end company like mercedes benz or bmw for even more money.

most automotive technicians have a passion for cars, and working on them. so this most likely means that they all enjoy shop work opposed to office/paper work although both are included in the job.
