Criteria for Consideration
* Excellence in the Classroom – demonstrates expertise in his/her subject matter, connects well with students, engages students using a variety of instructional methods and strategies, and/or incorporates a variety of approaches to best benefit all learners; uses engaging instructional practices that advance students to higher levels of academic achievement.
* Motivation – having the ability to motivate and encourage students to advance past their expectations both academically and socially. How has this staff member influenced you and/or the lives of his or her students?
* Leadership – demonstrates leadership in educational activities at the school, district, and/or state and national level that take place either within or out of the school setting; serving as a positive role model for students in the classroom, and throughout the school.
* Creativity and Imagination – demonstrating creativity and imagination in a way that inspires students to learn. Elaborate on special talents or commitments of the nominee, including extracurricular or school community endeavors.
* Dedication – contributes to quality professional development; shows excellent commitment to the advancement of students and school improvement.
* Communication – communicates articulately/consistently to school/community stakeholders.
