The Houston Area Road Runners Association New Website to Benefit Local Running
Houston, TX – The Houston Area Road Runners Association (HARRA), a non-profit umbrella organization representing the running community of Southeast Texas, today announced the final release of their new and improved website at www.harra.org. This site provides local and visiting runners with more comprehensive and up-to-date running information on Houston and its surrounding areas.
The new site, developed in partnership with The Driven Race and Club Solutions, provides a greatly improved member experience as well as a comprehensive set of integrated tools to facilitate streamlined management of members, communications, sponsors, volunteers, events, donations, clubs and training programs.
"Houston is a great running city and deserves a high quality online resource of local running information. With the help of The Driven, we redesigned our site to provide our membership and runners in general with a modern website. An additional benefit is it is much easier for us to keep fresh.” said Lisa Fletcher, Project Director and Board Member, HARRA.
“We were excited to work with HARRA on this project. Many of the features from this successful collaboration are incorporated in an off-the-shelf solution that is available to running clubs around the nation.” said Pete Jacobs, Owner, The Driven Club and Race Solutions.
Some of the enhancements found in the new harra.org site include:
Improved Race Calendar: Race directors can now add race event information directly and the calendar is searchable by date and distance.
Running Club Database: Region-wide running club information is refreshed and includes a map of each club’s general location.
Front Page: Recent running news and pictures can be easily refreshed.
Volunteer Sign-Up: A new feature has been added to enable sign-up as a volunteer for HARRA supported running events.
Membership System: A revamped, streamlined membership registration system is included.
The new harra.org site has been live since July 1 2014 without interruption. The site is designed as a flexible platform and will evolve as we add more content of value to the running community.
About the Houston Area Road Runners Association (HARRA):
HARRA (http://www.harra.org) is an all volunteer, nonprofit organization of runners dedicated to provide, support and advocate for the running community of Southeast Texas. We were founded in 1993 to promote running as a competitive sport and a healthful exercise in the greater Houston area. We have a membership of approximately 2500 individuals and 40 running clubs. HARRA is an affiliate member of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA).
