Buildings & Facilities: Community Input
At the end of the 2015-16 school year, the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda Union Free School District will fully implement the "Scenario I" consolidation plan adopted by the Board of Education in April 2014. This plan includes the closing of Hamilton Elementary School, Roosevelt Elementary School and Kenmore Middle School. This is in addition to Jefferson Elementary School, which closed after the 2012-13 school year. The District is in the process of exploring ways in which District buildings and facilities can best be utilized, including other buildings that house programs and offices such as the Philip Sheridan Building on Elmwood Avenue.
Potential optional future uses for buildings include housing District offices, programs and storage; mothballing; selling; and leasing. The District is seeking input from parents, residents, community members and other stakeholders on their ideas and suggestions for the future reuse or repurposing of Ken-Ton buildings and facilities.
