How to Type French Accents in Microsoft Word
In Windows, press CTRL and one of the five modifier keys ` ' " ~ ^ , then the letter to be modified.
( ' then a = á, " then u = ü, ' then c = ç, etc. )
For example: to type the letter "ê",
press CTRL + SHIFT + 6, then release and press E.
On a Mac, do as follows:
Acute: á, é, í — Option + e, the letter
Grave: è,à,ù — Option + `, the letter
Circumflex: ê Ê — Option + i, the letter
Umlaut: ü Ü — Option + u, the letter
Cedilla: ç Ç — Option + c or C
