Instructions on making wood hand stamps with Green Streets logo, for use on Walk/Ride DaysMaterials needed:
- One model-making saw and miter box (click here for an example. Should be available at local craft store.)
- Scissors
- Sanding block or small sheet of sandpaper
- Craft Glue (Elmers or other)
- Sheet or part of sheet of "foam or rubber paper" (Click here for an example. Should be available at local craft store.)
- Wood:
- 3/4"x 3/4"x 12" or 7/8" x 7/8" x 12" (Can use other objects instead. Wooden dreidels or wooden blocks or lincoln log-type blocks also work well.)
- 1/8" x 1" x 12" (Foam core can also be used.)
- Stamp pad with green ink, suitable for using on hands (I buy Inkadinkadoo ones at my local stationers.)
Directions:
- Glue the image below to a sheet of foam rubber paper.
- Cut two pieces of wood:
- 3/4" x 3/4" x 7/8" (for handle)
- 1/8" x 1" x 1" (for flat piece)
- Sand gently.
- Cut out logo shape in 3 pieces from foam rubber sheet, cutting off the black lines.
- Spread glue on right side of logo pieces, and place pieces right side down on flat piece of wood. Make sure there is space between the pieces of foam rubber, so that logo is legible when stamped. Check logo in mirror to make sure final stamp will be in the right direction. Let glue dry.
- When glue is dry, stamp logo onto stamp pad. Print logo on handle piece.
- Glue handle to flat piece.
