JUNE MEETING MINUTES
The meeting was called to order at 7pm by our new president Kelly Kroon.
June Behnke and Shirley Alexander were collecting Guild Dues. So, if you have not paid yet, don’t forget to bring your $15. Where can you have so much fun, for so little?
Birthdays – Donna Marsich and June Behnke

Round Robin – It was decided that the Round Robin will keep going for a couple of more months thru September. So, in September, you will take your own bag and see the wonders that have been created for you.
Website – check it out! Don’t forget to make it a Favorite on your internet. Constantly being updated with new and exciting items. There is a link to a pillow case tutorial on Chris Daly’s website, info to other guilds, etc.. Many other tutorials can be found, and great links to all kinds of quilting items.
Don’t forget to sign up on the blog: Click on follower, and follow the instructions so that you can keep up with activities and announcements. You can post your picture or pictures of your quilts.

Challenge – don’t forget the challenge that Linda Kirby gave the Guild ----bring in your pillowcases for the Con Kerr Cancer Project. You know how nice it is to get something when you are feeling low. So, you can imagine how much these kids love getting a "special" pillowcase.
Airing of the Quilts – July 18th. Don’t forget the Ugly Quilt Challenge. You can get your fabric at the Quintessential Quilts. Only $5 for the fabric and the rules. Must be completed and at QQ by July 17th.
QQ sill be holding a Mystery Quilt – Farm Scraps. It will be in 6 steps. More info to follow. Check with the store.
September Event – Sept 18 and 19
Registration will be on the blog or stop in at QQ to get a registration form.
Friday Lecture - $5- members, $10- non-members
Classes - $30- member, $50- non-member
Samples for the classes will be at QQ. Patterns and Kits will be available.
Kris Scharfenberb will make the tickets for the September Event
We need to advertise and invite our friends, in order for this weekend to be a success!
Program Committee is short handed, and Sherri Enke stepped up to the plate and volunteered to be on the committee. If anyone else would like to help out, please volunteer.
Next Guild Meeting – July 13 NOTE: 6:30pm start time
Lorna Maxwell will be back to teach a class on ‘Wool". We will be making a Sewing Ball.
Supply list will be on our website and also an email will be sent to each of you.
Bring a hand sewing kit – needled, thread scissors, etc.

Hostess Setup Sign-up Sheet was passed around. If you did not get to sign up, see Kelly Kroon and she will let you know which months still need a hostess. Everyone needs to take their turn.
President’s Quilt – 6" finished block on point (6 ½" unfinished)
Bring patterns for Bird Houses if you have any to the July meeting
Background square was given out to each member. The Guild paid for the fabric
Block is due at the August meeting.
Fat Quarter drawing is back—July is Orange and August is Black and White - Don’t forget to bring your fat quarter, I’m sure you don’t want me to win again!
Show and Tell – lots of wonderful items were presented.
Mary B updated us on the 2010 American Quilt Calendar which has the 100 year old quilt from the Presbyterian Church. It now resided in colonial Williamsburg .
I don’t know about you, but all of the projects/info that are in the Show and Tell are such an inspiration. Makes you want to go home and sew!!!!
Tip of the Month – Deb Ekes – Old record holders make great ruler holders. Great way to recycle if you have one laying around collecting dust. Always great to find a way to use items you have around, for something you love to do.
