BrainTel Configuration for Sipura/Linksys ATA’s:

 

1. Under System
Change DNS Server order: DHCP, Manual

Primary DNS: 208.67.222.222

Secondry DNS: 208.67.220.220

Primary NTP server: pool.ntp.org
Secondary NTP server: time.nist.gov


2. Click SIP on the Configuration Menu
Go to SIP Timer Values (sec)
Reg Retry Intvl: 30
Reg Max Expires: 1200
Reg Retry Long Intvl: 110

Go to NAT Support Parameters

For Substitute VIA Addr: Yes
For Send Resp To Src Port: Yes

For STUN Enable: Yes
For STUN Server: stun.voipcheap.com

(Any STUN server can be used they all work the same)

Change NAT Keep Alive Intvl: 30
 

3. Click Provisioning on the Configuration Menu
Go to Configuration Profile
Change Provision Enable: No


4. Click Regional on the top:

Under Ring and Call Waiting Tone Spec

Change Ring Waveform to Sinusoid

Change Ring Voltage: 90

Change Ring Frequency: 20


Under Miscellaneous

Change Time Zone select your time zone


5. Click Line 1 for phone 1 on the Configuration Menu


Go to NAT Support Parameters
Next to NAT Mapping Enable: Yes
Next to NAT Keep Alive Enable: Yes

Go to SIP Settings
Next to SIP Port: 5060

Go to Proxy and Registration
Next to SIP Proxy: chat.brain.net.pk
(you can try with 8891, It will work fine but this setting can be changed by BtainTEL anytime)
Next to Register: Yes
Next to Register Expires: 60
Next to Use OB Proxy In Dialog: No
Next to Make Call Without Reg: No
Next to Answer Call Without Reg: No

Go to Subscriber Information
Next to Display Name: Your Name
Next to User ID: 1001xxxx (replace xxxx with last foru digits of your BrainTEL phone number)
Next to Password: Your BrainTEL password
Next to Use Auth ID: No

Go to Audio Configuration
For Preferred Codec: G711u
For Use Pref Codec only: No

Go to Dial Plan
Next to Dial Plan:
 

First option for dialling seven digit Lahore and Karachi numbers: 

(*xx|[2-9]xxxxxx|1x.|03xxxxxxxxx|02xxxxxxxx|02xx11x.|0[4-9]xxxxxxxx|0[4-9]xx11x.|<011:00>92xxxxxxxxx|<011:00>923xxxxxxxxx|)

 

Second option  for dialling seven digit Lahore and Karachi numbers:

(*xx|[2-9]xxxxxx|1x.|xx.|042x.|<011:00>x.|)

 

Note: Above dial plans will allow calling seven or ten digit numbers along with NWD, UAN and mobile numbers; it will also allow any International phone number dialling. 

 

Third option for dialling eight digit Lahore and Karachi numbers:

Note: Above dial plans will allow calling eight or eleven digit numbers along with NWD, UAN and mobile numbers; it will also allow any International phone number dialling. 


6. Click User 1 on the Configuration Menu
