Hospital bag list

For Mum

Your maternity notes

Clothes that you feel comfortable in

Maternity pads (I took dark cheap knickers in with me too!)

Toiletry bag

Mini-fan (labour rooms are so so warm, although my room did have a fan in it, might be worth asking a mw about?)

Something to help keep you occupied - a book, cds, ipod. I took puzzle books and cards

Makeup (if you want to make sure you look good on all your pictures! Mine only came out on the day we came home!!)

Camera (and spare batteries for those precious first pictures)

List of phone numbers (people you want to contact straight away)

Snacks for your birthing partner

BF bras, breast pads, bobbles if your hair is long, believe me my MIL put my hair up for me whilst in labour and it was so much easier, it was annoying me!!

Maybe your own pillow too - I only had 1 pillow on my hospital bed and got Aaron to bring me in another one from home!!

For the babies

Babygros (always take too many! and remember to leave some in a place where your OH will remember where they are!)
Nappies, wipes
Muslins
hats, scratch mits
body suits  (same as baby gros)
blankets - and if you have pets at home, maybe send a blanket home with OH so they get used to the smell
some plastic bags for dirty clothes including yours unless you are chucking the soiled bits away
car seats and appropriate clothes for leaving hospital. We personally left the car seats at home and my Dad picked them up on the way to get us, always make sure that you know how they fit in the car and hot to adjust the straps!!
