Vocabulary List #2 (9th)

Directions:

For each word you will need to write a sentence that shows your understanding of the word. Simple sentences will receive zero points. An example of this type of sentence is: My friend is benign. This in no way shows me that you understand the meaning of the word.

 

Each sentence must be at least 12 words in length. Put word count at end of sentence.

 

Sentences are due Wednesday. Quiz on Friday.

8. Aficionado (n.) - An enthusiastic admirer or follower; a fan.

 

9. Substantiate (v.) - To support with proof or evidence; verify

 

10. Cognizant (adj.) - Fully informed; conscious; aware of

 

11. Omniscient (adj.) - Having total knowledge; knowing everything

 

12. Coulrophobia (n.) - An irrational fear of clowns
