Fundraising Meeting Minutes #3 : September 22nd
I. Icebreaker and Members Present: Question: if you had to rob a bank, how would you do it?
Kenneth Lee: Hire goons, local gang, AK 47, and hire hacker. Transfer funds to untraceable account.
Mimi Dao: dunno….use Sex Appeal, and use hot leather pants, and buy guards Boba
Nina Yang: Sex Appeal
Margaret Chiu: Two words, sex appeal JK! Low Key and call Yakuza, and just be discrete. Like Inside Man
Diane Chen: do sex appeal and bring Nina
Keiko Tanaka: 4th year, plan it way ahead, working for the bank, and get a general idea of what’s going on; behind the security scene – using sex appeal
Sooyun Choi: use team of six very-well trained pokemon – Evie etc
Peter Le: secretly fighting…like Batman and then use Sex Appeal – and then take the money
Jennifer “Baa-Chan” Liu: never thought about it; won’t go through trouble, sex appeal(?) No idea… probably do something technical – won’t bring gun – no hassle
Albert : fraud, and using signature
Matthew Tadros: SEX APPEAL, and in a towel
Tiffany Ornedo: Innocent, look very young, so they won’t know
Darrell Hawkins: Up Batman 5 fold
Josh Lomeli: Find out bank manager, and use SEX APPEAL
II. Logistics for Projects:
a. Scoop-for-service- scoop for people, like concession stands, willing to donate ice cream
CON: would they let us do it? Ask Ice cream place –bring flyers? Warm weather, but getting cool these days…maybe in the spring? How much would they pay us? Complicated to arrange
-Should be done right before summer, know the possibility of having warm weather
-Timing Issue – next summer
b. In-N-Out food sales
PRO: Popular
-order too much – it’s ok, ppl would want to buy it b/c it’s not that common
CON: Keeping it warm
-Did it 4 years ago, didn’t work well
-Traffic
-Someone would have to spot – it would be a big order
-The different types of stuff that people might order
Do we want to do it: Yes, it would work à Eventually
-Can we fb it: worked out last year; mass publicity
c. Multiplex:
PRO: Group, use projection for floor social during Vijay’s time,
Where: In wheeler, 100, 200
How:
- Use one scary, and one non-scary
- Using families for competition
- Fix Janitor problem by talking to them first? Go to Custodian Room
- Doing this soon: how soon? Popcorn from last year
- What to bring: drinks? Nina baking
- Bring Blankets and clothing – comforters
D. Charity Showcase: performing clubs, and charge money, or send in video; try to get donations and try to get money for our DFIs
A. When? November 20th, before Fall Banquets à Check schedules because they may be doing practices; pretty busy for them because of the final
-They won’t perform before their own showcase, won’t perform set
-How about Spring Semester, because after rose sale…nothing to do; could really go all-out; we get a lot of emails from other organizations who really want to work with us. We have to give them all the details for a big turn-out à Going on in the Spring
-Get show case dates – get their busy seasons, and we can keep correspondence; we can talk to past PRs, and we should get the PROS and CONS
-Have a program, and a mid-show slide-show for PR for them
-Keep in mind the upbeatness
-Rehearsal? Just one
-Record their own show for us to know beforehand or ask them how long it would be
-Raffle Ticket, or have snacks during the intermission – talk to Feel Good, and they’re going to help us publicize
-CONS: Publicity, we need to publicize (KEY); good to know about Presales. We need a good-size Venue, but stay close to get the people. Also, having a great program makes it better.
-Publicity: Twitter, using Family, fliers, Facebook, videos
-But Pricing: last years à dinner and a show
à Presale: for 3, and at the door for 7
-Time: Before Rose-sale (start on the 31th) or after? We can publicize showcase before Rose Sale..or sell Roses during the Charity Showcase à Definitely after January
