[Mr./Ms. Last Name]:
EPC is pleased to present our preliminary energy conservation program in the enclosed documents. In them you will find:
As a continuation of our previous discussion regarding the possible participation of CNM engineering faculty and students in EPC programs, we are now soliciting both your expert advice and actual task involvement in the work described in the Phase One proposal (mentioned above). Please review the preliminary plans presented in the enclosed documents in consideration of what help CNM might be willing to add.
EPC is convinced that such an arrangement is potentially beneficial to both parties. EPC is a non-profit, 501C-3 organization actively providing residential and social services to recovering alcoholics and addicts in Albuquerque. As such, scarce resources are constantly allocated very carefully. However, a strong possibility of funding for the proposed energy conservation program has recently developed, and EPC is now seeking cost saving assistance from the community where possible. To the benefit of CNM's academic commitment, the proposal describes Phase One as-built tasks which present not only a material opportunity for CNM engineering group field experience, but also a very visible public opportunity for the college's reputation of community involvement.
EPC staff would very much like to discuss the possibilities for both of us arising from our proposals with interested CNM representatives. Although we are most interested in direct field assistance, we will also look forward to CNM suggestions of ways which our proposal can be improved in efficiency and effectiveness, and adjustments to our preliminary plan which might make CNM participation more amenable to the established procedures of the institution. We realize that EPC may very well be asking for a type of assistance which is marginally outside the traditional role of the college, however, the opportunity seems to be an exciting one with significant possible benefits for both of our respective missions.
We are
very interested in an informal meeting to explore what assistance CNM
might propose as a contribution to our project. EPC can schedule its
conference room and staff for such a meeting at your convenience, or
we will be pleased to meet with your representative at the CNM
campus.
The EPC staff contacts for this matter are Dave Einerson, (505-750-1878), and Dr. Sam Slishman (phone number). We are looking forward to the opportunity to more fully introduce our plans in a personal context.
Sincerely yours,
Sam Slishman
