Objectives
Students will learn to use the Scratch application
Students will learn to combine a series of Scratch scripts to create a game
Students will learn problem solving skills to fix the "bugs" in their design.
Resources:
Day 1
- Show students where how to find and open the Scratch program
- Put students into groups of two.
- Tell students you have 20 minutes to learn something about Scratch. What can it do and how do you do it?
- Have pairs present their findings in the last 20 minutes of class.

- Students start work on their projects
Homework:
- Write down the criteria for an excellent, "A+" project
Day 4
- Collect and discuss the criteria for an excellent A+ Scratch project.
- Students continue working on their projects.
- Teacher creates a rubric for the project using the criteria suggested by students.
Day 5
- Teacher hands out rubric
- Students finish working on their projects and upload them to the Scratch website.
- If there is time, students play with each other's projects.
Day 6
- Students present their projects to the class.
Homework:
Students self evaluate their projects using the rubric and explain why this project was used in the math classroom. "Where is the math?"
