• Doug Summerson ('10) passed the P actuarial exam in May 2009.
  • Matthew Weaver ('11) and Liz Pagano ('11) passed the FM exam in May 2009.
  • Senior Mathematics Education major Amanda Golas ('09) led a session entitled Finding a Place for Mathematics Learning Disabilities in the Postsecondary World at the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics annual conference in Washington, DC in April 2009 with Dr. Gochenaur.
  • Neil Dawes ('09) will begin graduate work at Wake Forest Universty in Fall 2009.
  • Brandon Metz ('09) will begin graduate work at University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in Fall 2009.
  • Seven students wrote senior theses in Mathematics:

    • Amanda Golas ('09), "Finding a Place for MLD in the Post-Secondary World," supervised by Deborah Gochenaur.
    • Brandon Metz ('09), “Mathematically Modeling Voice Leading in Music," supervised by James Hughes.
    • Lindsay Pecht ('09), "Cryptanalysis of Encrypted Grayscale Images," supervised by Tim McDevitt.
    • Rebecca von Funk ('09), "Statistical Analysis with Incomplete Data: The EM Algorithm," supervised by Bogdan Doytchinov.
    • Amanda Winter ('09), "Perfect Numbers", supervised by Leyla Batakci.
  • Amanda Morgan passed the P exam in January 2009.
