The Muir Appointments Commission requests that you complete the following application to initiate the appointment you seek. Write or type your responses to the questions on a separate piece of paper. Two pages double-spaced for the entire application should suffice. This application is due to the Muir Student Affairs Office (HSS 2126) by 4:00pm on Wednesday, December 2nd.  It may also be emailed to mccvicechair@ucsd.edu.  Once your application is received you will be contacted to schedule your interview appointment. Interviews will take place during the MCC meeting on Thursday, December 3rd.

 

All applicants must be Muir students.  At the top of your typed application, please include the following information:

  1. Name
  2. Phone number
  3. Email address
  4. The title(s) of the leadership appointment(s) for which you are applying.
  5. Indicate if your overall GPA is at least 2.0, a requirement to serve on MCC. 

 

You may submit your completed application to the Dean’s Office. After your application has been received, you will be contacted by phone to set up an in-person interview to ask you more specific questions regarding the position you seek. To facilitate interview scheduling, please attach your current schedule. All information will be kept strictly confidential, and will be destroyed after the appointments process.

 

The Council meets on Thursday nights at 6:00p.m. in the Half Dome Lounge, and applicants are strongly encouraged to attend a meeting before applying for a position. Once you are appointed to MCC, weekly attendance is mandatory for internal members, and external members are required to attend a minimum of one and a half meetings per quarter although more attendance is strongly encouraged.  Your interest in Muir leadership is greatly appreciated.
