Rules
The following are the Official Rules for The Game at UCSF. They are non-negotiable due to University of California and liability issues. More detailed information will be provided as The Game approaches.
Participants:
- Currently registered UCSF student
- Enrolled in the school of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry.
- Must provide all information requested in registration section
- Must sign waiver form
Teams:
- Inter- and intra-school teams encouraged.
- One car only per team.
- Number of team members limited to the number of seat belts in team car (i.e. 4-5 players)
- Must provide own car. Must provide proof of insurance.
- Must have insured driver. Must provide proof of insurance and valid driver's license.
General Game Rules:
- No alcohol can be consumed prior to or during The Game.
- Drive safely. No speeding. Everyone must have a seatbelt and buckle it!
- Do not break the law. Don't do anything illegal. Call Game Control if you are unsure.
- Do not draw the attention of law enforcement or security guards. It will ruin The Game because clue locations will become compromised.
- Do not disturb the natural world. No digging or damaging property or the environment is required to find the clues.
- Be fair. Take only one copy of each clue. Leave the other clues in the exact same location you found it.
- Do not cheat. Do not follow other teams.
- Drowsiness is Red Alert!!! Do not drive if you are too tired.
- Be safe. Do not do anything dangerous.
- Have fun. Enjoy the experience of a lifetime.
Playing The Game:
- You may use any resource on the face of the earth to solve the clue. This includes items you've brought with you, your Home Base, the public, etc. Obey all General Game Rules above.
- Found clue - call automated Game Control to confirm clue receipt.
- Answered clue - call automated Game Control to give answer. If correct, you will be told the next clue site.
- Specific location of clue at site - call automated Game Control after lock-out period once you have reached clue site but cannot find clue.
- Hints/help - call live Game Control for hints. We are your friend. Be nice! If you are stuck/taking more than 10-15min to make progress, please call. Time penalties apply.
- Pictures - Take creative team pictures at each clue location. You will capture endless memories and get bonus time!
Winning:
- Time based
- Time finished overall
- Time penalties (i.e. hints taken)
- Time bonuses (i.e. pre-clue, team pictures, team challenges)
