Interested in joining a club?  Your involvement beyond the classroom is what makes college an interesting experienceMt. San Antonio College offers an outstanding assortment of opportunities to make friends and enhance learning, not to mention having fun.  Listed on the following pages are the current active clubs from which you might select.  Also listed are those clubs that are no longer active, but you may want to re-activate. This organization focuses on the educational, political, and social problems which Chicano/Latino students may encounter.  It develops unity among Chicano/Latino students on campus by making them aware of issues and educational problems facing Chicano/Latino people.  Members encourage Chicano/Latino high school students to attend an institution of higher learning making them aware of the importance and opportunities of furthering their education.  Emphasis is on service to the College and the community.

The primary directive of the Students for Immigrant Rights of the Internationalist Current club is to organize on the campus and at the community level, and counter the attacks on the people that are being committed by racist organizations like the Minute Men and Save Our State, and government repressive agencies like the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.).  S.I.R.-I.C. are in solidarity with all oppressed and occupied people.  No human being is illegal.

Responsible for the upholding or changing of the Constitution which expresses the general will of the Associated Students of Mt. San Antonio College; promotes student involvement in the total campus life; develop communication and leadership skills, and offers a broader opportunity to interact with the administration, the faculty, staff and the students.  Determines the priorities for the AS budgets and allocates funding to campus programs.

The Student Court upholds and protects the A.S. Constitution and Directives.  It ensures that the Student Government and student clubs do no infringe upon, nor abuse any privileges and rights afforded them by the A.S. Constitution.  The Court also reviews grievances and complaints filed against Associated Students officers and/or Mt. SAC clubs.

Agricultural Mechanics: The purpose of this organization is to promote and assist the varied interests of the Agriculture Department at Mt. SAC and also to bring together the students of the Agricultural Department.

 

Ahimsa Club: Interested in India?  This club shares the language, custom, history and literature of the culture.

 

Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Club: To promote the education of Mt. SAC Air Conditioning and Refrigeration students; to develop means of placing all ACR graduates; promote a wholesome attitude toward the ACR industry, to raise money to purchase any items, materials or labor skills deemed necessary for the betterment of the program.

 

Alpha Eta Rho: The purpose of this club is to promote, maintain and inspire the study of the Italian culture, the people, the customs, the history, the language the literature and other aspects of Italian life.  The club will provide opportunities to the students of Mt. San Antonio College to further their education through scholarships and the celebration of cultural diversity.             

 

American Sign Language Club:   To create an opportunity for students to interact using sign language as their primary communication by organizing events, sharing information, as well as having practice sessions to improve signing skills.   

 

Amateur Radio Society: Assist members in preparing for the F.C.C. Amateur Radio License exam, discuss aspects of Amateur Radio, and provide communication services.

 

American Language & Culture Club: The foundation of the American Language and Culture Club is to assist its members in acquiring English skills, plan and participate in cultural activities, and foster an understanding of the ALCC among students and members of the community.

 

Anthropology & Geography Club: To increase knowledge of the discipline on campus by sharing important information about the field.  Through events, lectures of interest and raising the level of awareness through discussion of current anthropological issues and introducing the science’s importance to students.

 

Arab Student Union: To celebrate and promote Arabic culture and heritage through educational event both on and off the Mt. SAC Campus; provide students with a more balanced political and social understanding of Mid-Eastern issues; serve as a cultural club for dissemination of information related to Arabic arts, language and music; promote good will, understanding, fellowship and tolerance among all students  through collaboration with various on/off campus organizations.

 

Baha'i Association: To promote and further the ideals of the Baha'i Faith, as proclaimed by the prophet-founder, Baha'u'llah.  The Baha'i Faith upholds the unity of god, recognizes the unity of His Prophets, and inculcates the principle of the oneness and wholeness of the unification of mankind, asserts that it is gradually approaching, and claims that nothing short of the transmuting spirit of God, working through His Mouthpiece in this day, can ultimately succeed in bringing it about.

 

Bio-Sci Club: The Bio-Sci Club is an informational organization that is geared towards helping Mt. San Antonio College students develop a better understanding of the different areas of study within the biology and science fields.

 

Bridge Christian Fellowship:  To provide a forum for anyone interested in studying the Bible.  The primary goal is to facilitate a deeper understanding of biblical truths bringing spiritual comfort and positive interaction among fellow Mt. SAC students

 

Calvary Chapel Campus Studies: To provide solid Biblical teachings from the Bible.  Providing thorough teachings from the beginning to the end (Genesis to Revelation).  All students are invited to join.

 

Chinese Mathematics Club: To stimulate an interest in the discipline for mathematics, provide Chinese students help to better understand their language and a more in depth understanding of mathematics and create an awareness of the field of mathematics.

 

Christian Pilgrims:   To provide a forum to consider church movements in history from the first century to the present.  The New Testament and related Christian writings will be discussed.

 

Christian Students @ Mt. SAC:  To share the gospel with other students on campus and to teach the truths from the Bible from a non-denominational perspective.  Engage in weekly Bible study, seminars and campus outreach.

 

Club Mex (Habitat for Humanity): This organization strives to be of assistance to individuals and groups who are interested in actively responding to the needs for decent housing.

 

Club Pre-Med: Club Pre-Med is a non-profit, community-based organization devoted to empowering America’s future Physicians by strengthening the role they play in their community.  Our purpose is to improve understanding, acceptance, and compassion while educating ourselves on the value of human life by becoming active volunteers in our community.  Club Pre-Med will coordinate projects such as blood drives, internships, workshops, speaking engagements, and other volunteer opportunities.

 

College Republicans: To promote Republican ideas and views on campus; provide the students of this college with an opportunity for political expression and recognition, and assist in the election of Republican candidates to all levels of government.

 

Dance Club: To promote the Mt. San Antonio College Dance program and provide the opportunity to participate in and to be involved with the art of dance.

 

Democratic Club: Ensure a better future by actively participating in the political democratic process by providing democratic process by providing democratic ideals and viewpoints to the campus community.  Members shall assist in the election process of democratic candidates to all levels of government.

 

Don’t Tread on Me ClubTo promote the anti human-trafficking and slave movement by promoting the awareness of such practices.

 

D.S.P. & S. Strength in Diversity Club:  To provide a more supportive system to all members of the disabled student population by developing and promoting a more positive interaction with the Mt. San Antonio College population which includes administration, faculty, staff, and the student body in general.

 

Economics Club: To stimulate an interest in the discipline of economics, provide exposure and create awareness in the field of economics and the industry.  At the same time, to promote friendly relations between faculty, students and the business environment.

 

Engineering Students Association: To promote and increase the understanding and knowledge of engineering, while providing educational planning, field experience and ethics needed to become engineers.

 

The Entrepreneurs’ Club:  To stimulate an interest in the discipline of business management and to provide exposure to and create an awareness of the field of entrepreneurship and the industry; to provide a means of communication and promote friendly  relations between faculty, students and business concerns in the surrounding communities; to provide an opportunity for students to acquire valuable experience in critical skills necessary for business innovation, leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

EOPS & S Club of Mt. San Antonio College: Promote equality among students and strengthen unity between the faculty, staff and the college environment; encourage campus participation in activities on campus and in the community to assist in developing and strengthening leadership and communication skills.

ESL (English as a Second Language Club): The English as a Second Language is service club committed to promoting ESL student involvement in campus activities to enhance intercultural understanding among students.  Club activities will address the personal, informational, and cultural adjustment concerns of ESL club members and all interested students.

 

Eucharist-Multi-Cultural Catholic Club: The fundamental purpose of the Catholic club is spiritual; also to provide to all students an opportunity for spiritual nourishment, the celebration of cultural diversity and opportunities for fellowship and networking in light of Catholic faith teachings.

 

Fashion Associates Club: Designed for those interested in a career in fashion.  Offers career guidance in this field.  Student interaction and leadership development is stressed.

 

Focusing Ring: Promote an interest in photography and the photography department.  Becoming involved with photo contests, exhibitions, demonstrations and other organized events.  Provide a historical record of the College.  Provide a photo service to the clubs and organizations of Mt. SAC and to private parties.  Provide darkroom and studio facilities for the members of the club.

 

Fusion Club: To promote positive relationships among different cultures at Mt. San Antonio College through social events, fieldtrips, charity fund-raisers, reciprocal tutoring in language classes and benefits for specific departments on campus.

 

Geo-science Club:  To provide an earth science based social setting to unite students with a common interest in the workings of the planet earth.

 

HAGASE (Hispanic Alcanzan Grandes Ambicones Satisfaction Y Exito) – (Hispanic Women Achieve Ambiantion, Satisfaction & Success): To inform and support Hispanic women in particular and other students in their pursuit of educational and career goals.

 

History Club: To further the study of history and its relationship to current events, discussion of historical subjects in greater detail than a survey course allows, and to expand historical knowledge through field trips and presentations of research papers.

 

Horse Club (Mt. San Antonio College):   Promoting Mt. San Antonio College horses and providing enjoyment and knowledge for students interested in the equestrian field.

 

Hospitality & Restaurant Management Club:    To establish an organization that shares an interest in advancement and growth of the hospitality and restaurant industry.  To promote and encourage the study of business in the hospitality and restaurant  industry;  to act as a liaison between faculty, students, and business in surrounding communities; to establish a network of contacts for members, and encourage the establishment of courses preparing students for careers in hospitality and restaurant management.              

 

International Business Club:  To stimulate an interest in the discipline of international business management and to provide exposure to create an awareness of the increasing global trade, providing a means of communication and promote friendly relations between faculty, students and business concerns in the surrounding communities.  To provide an opportunity for student to acquire valuable experience in critical skills necessary for business innovation, leadership, organizational, critical and analytical skills. 

 

Invisible Children International:  To construct projects, events and drives for the collection of provisions that go directly to supporting the war victims of Uganda, Africa  who have suffered from  loss of homes, families and have been coerced into displacement camps.   The club is devoted to support and help these people strive for success through the rebuilding of schools, homes and opportunities.

 

Japan Circle Club:  To share the knowledge of the Japanese culture, and promote the traditions and customs by practicing and improving language skills and more interaction with Japanese students.

 

Military Support Community ClubTo promote and foster a more positive image of the military by helping students at Mt. San Antonio College to become more aware of the role the military provides on campus and in the community.

 

Mt. SAC Greens Club: To promote the 10 Key Values of the Green Party and provide a community throughout the campus.

 

Mt. SAC Book Club:  To create an intellectually stimulating form in which works of fiction and non-fiction can be read and discussed while promoting the joys of reading throughout the Mt. SAC and Inland Empire and the Los Angeles community.

 

Mt. SAC Roller Hockey Club: The opportunity to enjoy the sport of Roller Hockey and compete at the collegiate level in various leagues.

 

Mt. SAC Indonesian Student Association (ISA): To unite all Indonesian people at Mt. SAC; to introduce the Indonesian social and cultural life, and to provide assistance and guidance to students.

 

Islamic Awareness Club: Promotes Islamic Awareness throughout the College and surrounding communities.  Fosters good citizenship and assumes the responsibility for promoting peace and harmony among all people.

 

Korean Student Club: To learn different cultural and race differences to introduce customs peculiar to Korea.  Contribute to a closer relationship between Korea and the United States of America.

 

Latter Day Saints Student Association: The L.D.S.S.A.  is established to assist students in balancing their academic, social, cultural and religious education.             

 

Manufacturing Technology Club: To increase the knowledge and to further the interests of its members in manufacturing applications and technology.

 

Mt. SAC Chess Club:   To promote the advancement of logical thinking and reasoning by playing the ancient but noble game of chess.

 

Mt. SAC NOW (National Organization for Women): To promote; stimulate, and encourage interest in feminist issues and to dispel stereotypes regarding women in society.

 

MT.  SAC Renewal Energy Club:  To promote renewable energy resources and educate students in the college environment and the community, providing a medium and a format for the exchange of ideas, information and skills regarding renewable energy technologies.

 

Mt. SAC Rugby Club: Promote “the gentleman’s game” of rugby to the student populace at Mt. San Antonio College and help develop a love of the game as well as compete at the collegiate level in both Southern California Rugby Football Union, as well as the United States of America Rugby Football Union.

 

Model United Nations:  To develop a greater understanding of the nations of the world.

 

New Life Bible Study ClubTo allow everyone who believes or is interested in the belief of the sacred testament of the Holy Bible, the opportunity to study the scriptures.  The primary goal of the New Life Bible Study Club is for all its members to develop a deeper comprehension of the Bible, find spiritual comfort and interact positively with fellow Mt. SAC students as well as the surrounding community.

 

Newsong Fellowship: Provides a non-threatening environment for Christians and non-Christians alike to come together and explore spiritual issues with the intent of growing closer to Christ.

 

Odyssey Travel ClubTo promote the Study Abroad program at Mt. SAC and to encourage student’s to experience life and education through travel.

 

Organization of African Unity: Create a support system for new African students to help them integrate into American society.  Bring the African community and the rest of the student body together.

 

Philosophy ClubTo provide a safe environment to discuss and analyze ideas in a group setting without being judged or persecuted.  The ideas resolve around the topics and ethics, human motivation, metaphysics, religion, etc.

 

Registered Veterinary Technician Club: To enhance community awareness in the health, well-being, and care of companion animals; supply pet therapy whenever possible and to promote the Registered Veterinary program.

 

R.V. Club: To encourage through common interest, fraternity and camaraderie among the members.  Club members will be able to share knowledge relating to RV activities.  Promote and encourage adherence to the rules and etiquette of safety.

 

S.C.O.O.P. (Southern California Organization for Overweight People):  To promote a health and fitness awareness program and to stimulate knowledge in the field of personal health care with specific regards to proper weight reduction methods.

 

Scrubs Club: To promote interaction between medical student and helping students build a stronger rescue and application for medical school through volunteer and community work.

 

Sculpture Club: To assist in expanding interest and experience in sculptural, three-dimensional media and processes for club members and the general community.  The goals of the Sculpture club include technical support and education of its members; public exhibitions, demonstrations and lectures by club members and noteworthy sculptors; and generating a broader awareness by the College and community of sculpture.

 

Single Parent & Reentry Klub (SPARK): To provide support and encourage returning students and single parents who want to further their education and meet the demands of everyday life as students and parents.

 

Sociology Club:  To promote a positive academic attitude and an atmosphere conducive to learning and growth by emphasizing the importance of the practical application of sociology.

 

Student Advocates for Voter Empowerment (S.A.V.E.): To improve voter turnout among young people.

 

Student -Athlete Association: To unite all of the athletic teams with support from one another in order to promote and publicize both academically and athletically.

 

Student Film Club: To promote an appreciation towards international films and filmmaking art, and creating an environment in which different worldviews are respected and people from various backgrounds and experiences are invited to participate. 

 

Students for Undivided Understanding (S.F.U.U.):  To provide an intellectual environment for study, dialogue and self expression.

 

Tennis Club: To provide Mt. SAC students who play tennis an opportunity to improve their game by offering various levels of competition between male/female opponents for doubles and singles play.

 

Transfer Club: The Mt. SAC Transfer Club will serve as a student Advisor(s)y board to the Advisement Center in developing transfer activities for day and evening students

 

VICA (Vocational Industrial Club of America): Assist local VICA members in their growth and development. Unite in a common bond without regard to race, creed or national origin students enrolled in classes with vocational trade and industrial, technical and health occupation education objectives. Develop leadership abilities through participation in educational, vocational, civic, recreational and social activities.
