SIUE alumni, students, family and friends celebrated Homecoming weekend at SIUE October 9th and 10th. The fun-filled weekend of events including the 8th Annual Chili Cook-Off, men's soccer game versus Alabama A&M, Club Volleyball alumni game, Club Hockey alumni game, Alumni Reunion Row and the Club Football game versus the University of New Orleans. Enjoy an all-day Cougars basketball event with the Alumni Association and get your game on! Watch the women's team take on the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee starting at 12:00pm. Network with other SIUE graduates during the private networking reception starting at 1:00pm. Then, root for the men's basketball team as they beat the Redbirds from ISU starting at 2:30pm. Bev George, '75 BS, '79 MSED, has been named to the board of directors for the National Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers.
Two students of the Premiere Performance dance studio in Edwardsville, owned by alumna Darla Andree, '84 BS, have been selected to be part of an international ballet troupe. Emily Rayburn and Madelyn Andree will participate in the Blue Lake International Exchange program in 2010. | |

Maya Angelou Photos Featured in Exhibit |

Photos of the legendary Maya Angelou are on display at Lovejoy Library through the end of October. The intimate pictures of the renowned author, activist, educator and performer were taken by SIUE Professor Emeritus Eugene B. Redmond. "Eighty Moods of Maya Angelou" contains unique, candid photos from the past several decades. | |

Theater and Dance Alumnus Nominated for Award |

SIUE alumnus Michael Szeles, '06 BS, was nominated for a New York Innovative Theater Award for his work in an off-off-Broadway production. Szeles and the rest of the cast of The Most Damaging Wound were nominated for the IT Outstanding Ensemble Award. | |

STAT Alumni Mentor Program Update |

Have you signed up for the STAT Alumni Mentor Program yet? The mentor committee has finalized the first round of student and alumni partners and hosted a STAT Alumni Mentor Mixer at Birger Hall.
