Course Description:

To some a cellphone in a classroom is a distraction. To others, a cellphone in the classroom opens a whole new world of possibilities to advance instruction and drive learning outcomes. This certification workshop introduces educators and students to how to utilize the iPhone and smart-phones as an instruction and collaboration tool. The Houston Community College with the leadership of Dr. Roger Boston has pioneered the use of the iPhone in the classroom with great success. With the use of mobile devices on the rise (39 percent of Americans ages 18 to 34 own a cell phone), harnessing this technology for use in education can benefit students, teachers, faculty and staff.

This workshop is presented by the University of Houston College of Technology Engineering Technology Department in collaboration with the Houston Community College and AT&T .
