To the class:

Alright, can I have everyone bring it in please!

How’s everyone doing today?  My name is Patrick, Mr. Wingler, you guys could call me Mr. W.

And uh, today were going to be starting off with some basics in Frisbee, get some Frisbee action going.

What were going to learn today is the backhand throw to a partner.

Nothing too involved, but our ultimate goal is to get into some ultimate Frisbee.

So, uh, can I have two volunteers?

Mike and Mike, bring it in.

Alright, now, the things you want to remember with the back hand throw.

This is the, this is like the initial thing that you learn in ultimate Frisbee ‘cause the goal is to get it from player to player.

So to get it from player to player, the most easy way to do it is with the backhand throw.

Now, the first thing you want to do is find your target, see who you are going to be throwing too.  ‘Cause your going have other players on the field, and whoever is open is who your going to throw it too.

So, Mike see’s Mike.  That’s his target.  And the second thing you want to remember to do is step and point as your throwing the Frisbee.  Where ever you point is where the Frisbee is going to go.

To Mike:

So if you want to just step and point, right to Mike….perfect, that’s how we do it.

To class:

So what were going to do is grab a partner, everyone grab a Frisbee, and everyone start, were going to get in lines….one line this way, the other line this way, from this black line right here, to this black line.

So can we have everyone get a partner, get a Frisbee, and remember step and point.

To Ricky:

              Good job Ricky

To Rachel:

Nice job Rachel, just remember to point at exactly who you’re throwing to.

To Chris:

Nice job Chris, just remember to get that point going nice and straight right at your target. There you go.

To Jed:

              Nice job Jed!

To Brad:

              Good throw Brad

To Mike:

Mike, remember to point right at your target. A nice straight point.  Remember where you point is where the Frisbee is going to go.

To Martino:

              Good job Martino!

To Mindy:

There you go Mindy, just remember to step and point right at Mike, alright?

To Mike and Dan:

              Nice job Mike and Dan!

 To Class:

              Good job guys!

Alright can I have everyone stop!

Alright, you guys all seem to be getting it pretty good, now what I want to have you guys do is move back from red line to red line.

And let’s see if you guys could get 10 Frisbee throws in a row without dropping it, alright?

Mike:

Mr. W, at the end of the throw is your hand going to be staying out there?

To Mike:

Yes, in the follow through, your hand will end pointing right at Mindy, or your target?

To Dan:

Remember to keep those throws nice and level, alright Dan?

To Frank and Mike:

              That’s 10! Good job guys!

To Steve:

              There you go Steve!

To Ricky:

Good job Ricky, just remember to follow through and step and point right at your target

To Class:

Alright can I have everyone bring it in!!

Hustle it up, Hustle it up!!

Good job guys, I’m seeing some good things right there

Alright, who can remember, what are the two things to remember when passing to your partner?

Step and point, right.

And what the first thing you want to do?

Find your target, right.

Good job guys, next class we are going to learn how to lead your target and start moving around.
