1. Giraffes Can't Dance
Summary from goodreads- "Gerald is a giraffe who simply can't dance. Try as he may, his long, spindly legs buckle whenever he starts to boogie. Every year he dreads going to the Great jungle Dance, until one night he finds his own special music."

This is a fun look at overcoming obstacles. This book you could review tolerance while discussing perseverance to help with doing your personal best.

2. The Three Questions

This book has beautiful illustrations. This story is a good model of contemplative or reflective behavior. The little boy in the story questions what is the best way to act and he asks his animal friends. This would be great if you want your students to think about how they behave.

Goodreads summary- "Nikolai is a boy who believes that if he can find the answers to his three questions, he will always know how to be a good person. His friends--a heron, a monkey, and a dog--try to help, but to no avail, so he asks Leo, the wise old turtle. "When is the best time to do things? Who is the most important one? What is the right thing to do?" Leo doesn't answer directly, but by the end of Nikolai's visit, the boy has discovered the answers himself."
