Jamie Crompton cemented his position as the UK’s number one U 17 steeplechaser by winning the North of England title. Jamie literally ran away from the competition winning by 20 seconds His time is a new club record and takes him into the top 30 of all time for the event.

Meanwhile a number of Horwich Athletes competed in other meetings over the Bank Holiday.

At the Junior League match at Preston and following his North of England win Jamie Crompton stepped up in distance to run the 2000m steeplechase and again continued his winning form in a time which takes him straight to the top of the UK rankings for an U 20 despite still only being 16.

Jack Thomas was close to his best in winning the 100m B race whilst April Stevenson had a comfortable win over 800m.
