Challenge Ladder Rules
- The challengee (person being challenged) gets to choose whether they want to play singles or doubles.
- You may challenge a player only one team above you.
- The challengee must respond and schedule a match time within 3 days of a challenge.
- A player can be challenged a maximum of 2 times in a week’s time and cannot be challenged twice consecutively by the same challenger.
- Match format is 2 of 3 sets, regular scoring (with AD, 12-point tiebreaker at 6-all).
- Think ahead, play matches all at once.
-
Non-responsive challengees and injury ranking protection requests will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
-
There will be no more challenges made after the Sunday before a tournament. (All challenges made during the week before a tournament will not be taken into effect until the next tournament.)
-
If you have been bumped down a team during the challenge period, you may request a rebuttal (challenge back)
- Email scores to tamu10s@gmail.com
Singles Rules
- If the challenger defeats the challengee, the two players switch teams.
Doubles Rules
- Partner choosing:
- Challengers may choose from their current team or from 1 team above.
- Challengees (person being challenged) may choose from their current team or from any team below.
- If the challenger defeats the challengee, just these two player switch teams
Rebuttal Rules
- The rebuttal match rule is only applicable if the following conditions (same as above) are met:
- You may challenge [or rebuttal] a player one team above you.
- A player cannot be challenged twice consecutively by the same challenger (i.e. you cannot challenge a person, win the challenge, lose the rebuttal, then challenge the same person again without someone else challenging the person you originally challenged first) This prevents an endless "back and forth" scenario.
- Rebuttal match may only be made 24 hours after the original challenge
- In the rebuttal stage of the challenge matches, the rules, specifically the format and partner picking ones, apply as if the rebuttal is a new challenge.
- ie: The challengee always picks the format, and new partners may be chosen.
