Building a Digital Kit
- Set up media folders: one main folder named for your topic and then subfolders for pictures, audio, video, teacher materials.
- Search for files and then download and save them to the desktop, sorting them into the appropriate folders as you go.
- For each file you download, copy a citation for where the file is from and then paste it into a citations word processing document. Do this after you download each file or else you will forget what file came from where and you will have a desktop full of files with no idea where they are from!
- Archive the kit or distribute it via flash drive, shared drive, or CD.

Tips and Tricks
- Right-click or control+click to download files
- Check video type: .asf or .wav for Windows Media Player and .mov for QuickTime
- Save downloaded files to the desktop, then immediately sort into folders and subfolders by type
- Rename files when necessary
- Copy and paste citations into a word processing document
