Notebook Requirements

This year our literature class will read fiction, nonfiction, and poetry as well as write and revise papers, complete short assignments, study vocabulary, and work on note taking skills. The organization of all our work (in progress and completed) is very important. Therefore you are required to purchase a three-ring binder and five dividers for the organization of all work you receive and complete exclusively for this class. Your binder must have no smaller than 2 inch rings and must be divided into five sections with tab dividers. Please look for a notebook that has inside pockets to store your composition journal. Use the five tab dividers to organize the binder into the sections listed below.

Please purchase a packet of white lined paper and place half of it in the section labeled Class Notes and the other half in the section Writing.

• Vocabulary

• Writing

• Processing Strategies

Your notebook will randomly be evaluated for proper organization and content. A notebook grade may be the value of a quiz or test grade. Keeping an organized notebook will help you keep track of completed homework, study for assessments, and review for both the Mid-Term and Final exams.
