Ego (Part 2) - What REALLY Happened in the Garden? 

 

Php 2:5-8  Let this mind be in you, which was also in Messiah YHWSHUA:  (6)  Who, being in the form of YHWH, thought it not robbery to be equal with YHWH:  (7)  But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:  (8)  And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the stake. 

 

(Last Week) 

“Are we teachable? Are we willing to heed spiritual truth even if it challenges our present beliefs? Or would we rather follow a false teaching that tells me what we (really our ego) want to hear?”  

 

If we will follow the Narrow Path, forsaking ego, there will be emotions, pain, and pride that we will have to deal with! 

 

Mind of Messiah 

 

We are Created in YHWH's image and Nature 

·       It is impossible that HIS word doesnt dwell in us 

·       We need to get rid of the ego so that we can see it clearly 

 

Php 2:5 - Let this mind be in you, which was also in Messiah YHWSHUA:  (6)  Who, being in the form of YHWH, thought it not robbery to be equal with YHWH:  

 

Mat 11:28-30  Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  (29)  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.  (30)  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. 

 

Rom 15:5-6  Now the Elohim of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Messiah YHWSHUA:  (6)  That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify YHWH, even the Father of our Master YHWSHUA Messiah. 

 

1Co 1:10  Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Master YHWSHUA Messiah, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.  

 

1Co 2:16  For who hath known the mind of YHWH, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Messiah.  

 

2Co 3:12-18  Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:  (13)  And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not steadfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:  (14)  But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same veil untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which veil is done away in Messiah.  (15)  But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart.  (16)  Nevertheless when it shall turn to YHWH, the veil shall be taken away.  (17)  Now YHWH is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of YHWH is, there is liberty.  (18)  But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of YHWH, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of YHWH. 

 

2Co 4:4  In whom the elohim of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Messiah, who is the image of YHWH, should shine unto them.  

 

2Co 11:3  But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Messiah.  

 

1Pe 1:13  Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of YHWSHUA Messiah;  

 

1Pe 2:21  For even hereunto were ye called: because Messiah also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 

 

1Pe 4:1-2  Forasmuch then as Messiah hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;  (2)  That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of YHWH. 

 

1Jn 2:4-6  He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.  (5)  But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of YHWH perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.  (6)  He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. 

 

Phil 2:6 - We, too, were created as Spirit beings!  

 

Col 1:15  Who is the image of the invisible Elohim, the firstborn of every creature: 

 

Gen 1:26-28  And Elohim said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.  (27)  So Elohim created man in his own image, in the image of Elohim created he him; male and female created he them.  (28)  And Elohim blessed them, and Elohim said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. 

 

Gen 5:1-2  This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that Elohim created man, in the likeness of Elohim made he him;  (2)  Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created. 

 

Gen 9:6  Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of Elohim made he man. 

 

Psa 82:6  I have said, Ye are Elohim; and all of you are children of the most High.  

 

Joh 10:30-36  I and my Father are one.  (31)  Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.  (32)  YHWSHUA answered them, Many good works have I showed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?  (33)  The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself Elohim.  (34)  YHWSHUA answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are Elohim  (35)  If he called them Elohim, unto whom the word of YHWH came, and the Scripture cannot be broken;  (36)  Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of YHWH? 

 

Act 17:28  For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. 

 

2Co 3:18  But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of YHWH, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of YHWH. 

 

Col 3:10  And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: 

 

Jas 3:9  Therewith bless we YHWH, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of YHWH. 

 

Eph 4:22-24  That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;  (23)  And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;  (24)  And that ye put on the new man, which after YHWH is created in righteousness and true holiness. 

 

·       We should never have lost awareness of our true identity & Origen 

·       We have free will & experimented with duality consciousness... 

·       We begin to see ourselves as separate from our Creator... 

·       This creates our ego, and it builds a wall between our consious self and our true identity (Sons of YHWH and Co-Creators with HIM) 

·       Our goal is to reclaim our true (lost) identity 

 

Oneness vs Duality - Jn 17 key 

 

We have become Dualistic creatures - Ego (mind of the flesh; Mind of Antimessiah) vs. Conscious (Mind of the Spirit; Mind of Messiah)  

 

Joh 17:2-3  As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.  (3)  And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true Elohim, and YHWSHUA Messiah, whom thou hast sent. 

Joh 17:20-24  Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;  (21)  That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.  (22)  And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:  (23)  I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.  (24)  Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. 

 

So why do we refuse to think of YHWSHUA our brother... but only an external Master & Savior? 

 

·       NOT above us and seperate from us... this is what ego wants us to believe!!!! 

·       We need to change our image (Of HIM and ourselves) if we are to grow into what HE is!!! 

 

In the Garden of Eden 

 

We need to understand lower consciousness & how it affects us 

 

Tree of Life (Oneness) vs Tree of good and evil (Duality - sets up a scale between two relative extremes - Flesh) 

 

Biblical account of the Garden of Eden based on a very old oral tradition 

 

·       Found in many writings (Sumerian, Egyptian, Babylonian, Mesopotamian, Chinese, Hebrew) 

·       Handed down from generation to generation 1000's of years 

·       Perhaps some of the deeper meaning has been lost? 

·       Cause of the fall of human beings was that they partook of the forbidden fruit (the knowledge of relative good and evil) 

·       Deeper meaning - Our state of consciousness. We fell from our likeness of YHWH to a lower state of consciousness - the understanding of relative good and evil. 

·       YHWH isn't dualistic... There is NO Evil with HIM... Everything that HE created was GOOD! (Except 2nd day) 

 

Gen 1:6-8  And Elohim said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.  (7)  And Elohim made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.  (8)  And Elohim called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. 

 

·       Become one with HIM by recognizing that behind the mask of Ego that we are truly Elohim nature 

 

Gen 3:6-8  And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.  (7)  And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.  (8)  And they heard the voice of YHWH Elohim walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of YHWH Elohim amongst the trees of the garden. 

 

·       We have free-will to choose whether or not to become one with that Elohim nature. 

 

Jn 17:21  That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.  (22)  And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:  

 

·       We must change our consciousness, our sense of identity, and the way we see ourself We are what we think you are 

·       We will NEVER bring forth our Elohim nature if we continue to see ourselves as mortal human beings separated from YHWH! 

 

Gen 3:21 - Unto Adam also and to his wife did YHWH Elohim make coats of skins, and clothed them.
