Shabbat Message of
Exo 32:1-26 And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us elohim, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we know not what is become of him. (2) And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me. (3) And all the people broke off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron. (4) And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy elohim, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. (5) And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, Tomorrow is a feast to YHWH. (6) And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play. (7) And YHWH said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves: (8) They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshiped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy elohim, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. (9) And YHWH said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people: (10) Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation. (11) And Moses besought YHWH his Elohim, and said, YHWH, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand? (12) Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people. (13) Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou sworest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it forever. (14) And YHWH repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people. (15) And Moses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two tables of the testimony were in his hand: the tables were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other were they written. (16) And the tables were the work of Elohim, and the writing was the writing of Elohim, graven upon the tables. (17) And when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said unto Moses, There is a noise of war in the camp. (18) And he said, It is not the voice of them that shout for mastery, neither is it the voice of them that cry for being overcome: but the noise of them that sing do I hear. (19) And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses' anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and broke them beneath the mount. (20) And he took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and strewed it upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it. (21) And Moses said unto Aaron, What did this people unto thee, that thou hast brought so great a sin upon them? (22) And Aaron said, Let not the anger of my master wax hot: thou knowest the people, that they are set on mischief. (23) For they said unto me, Make us elohim, which shall go before us: for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we know not what is become of him. (24) And I said unto them, Whosoever hath any gold, let them break it off. So they gave it me: then I cast it into the fire, and there came out this calf. (25) And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:) (26) Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on YHWH's side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.
Thyatira-Allowing Jezebel to Enter In
Rev_2:18-29 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of YHWH, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass; (19) I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first. (20) Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. (21) And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. (22) Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. (23) And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. (24) But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden. (25) But that which ye have already hold fast till I come. (26) And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: (27) And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. (28) And I will give him the morning star. (29) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Commendation
Rev 2:19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.
Charity - Love in Action
Mat 22:37 YHWSHUA said unto him, Thou shalt love YHWH thy Elohim with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 19:19 Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
Mat 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
1Co 13:4-8 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, (5) Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; (6) Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; (7) Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. (8) Charity never faileth...
1Co 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
Service
Gal 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
Col 3:24 Knowing that of the Master ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance; for ye serve the Master Messiah.
Mat 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my
brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Faith
Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please YHWH: for he that cometh to YHWH must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Mar 11:22-24 And YHWSHUA answering saith unto them, Have faith in YHWH. (23) For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. (24) Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
Patience (Patience and Faith are the 'Power Twins')
Luk 21:19 In your patience possess ye your souls.
Luk 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
2Th 1:4 So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of YHWH for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:
Jas 1:3-4 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. (4) But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
Heb 6:12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Interesting that works are mentioned first and last... and the last are said to be greater! This shows that the Assembly isn't stagnant, but growing!
The Problem
Rev 2:20-23 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. (21) And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
This was written to the Shepherd of the Assembly! He was allowing false doctrines to come into the Assembly through teachers of the wicked one...
Ahab married the wicked Jezebel and set up worship to idols! Is our heart pure from such? Did Ahab know that Jezebel was so wicked when he was joined to her? And just as with EliYAH the spirit of Jezebel is always against the righteous ones! And Jezebel always puts on 'spiritual makeup' to hide the hideousness that really dwells in her!!!
1. Do we allow false teachings of the Jezebel system (Review Last week) into our lives?
2. Into our families? (Radio, Books, etc)
3. Into the Assembly?
Php 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
2Co 11:13-15 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Messiah. (14) And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. (15) Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
2Ti 3:2-5 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, not set apart, (3) Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, (4) Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of YHWH; (5) Having a form of righteousness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
Spiritual Fornication
Act 15:20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.
Act 21:25 As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.
Rom 1:28-32 And even as they did not like to retain YHWH in their knowledge, YHWH gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; (29) Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, (30) Backbiters, haters of YHWH, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, (31) Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: (32) Who knowing the judgment of YHWH, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
1Co 6:13 Now the body is not for fornication, but for YHWH; and YHWH for the body.
Col 3:5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
1Th 4:3-7 For this is the will of YHWH, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: (4) That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor; (5) Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not YHWH: (6) That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that YHWH is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified. (7) For YHWH hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
1Co 3:16-18 Know ye not that ye are the temple of YHWH, and that the Spirit of YHWH dwelleth in you? (17) If any man defile the temple of YHWH, him shall YHWH destroy; for the temple of YHWH is Kadosh, which temple ye are. (18) Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
2Co 6:14-18 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? (15) And what concord hath Messiah with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? (16) And what agreement hath the temple of YHWH with idols? for ye are the temple of the living YHWH; as YHWH hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their Elohim, and they shall be my people. (17) Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith YHWH, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. (18) And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith YHWH Almighty.
Things Sacrificed to Idols
4. We have to search diligently here to find truth. (Not get into the full teaching today since it would take a whole message to see)
Exo 32:1-26 And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us elohim, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we know not what is become of him.
Mat 24:37-39 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. (38) For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, (39) And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. (This is NOT talking about living normal lives.. but rather if you notice it is speaking of the same 2 sins as in Rev 2!!)
5. 1 Cor 8 - I am NOT against Shaul, but it is easy to see somewhere that some teaching was perverted!!
1Co 8:4-9 As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other Elohim but one. (5) For though there be that are called elohim, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be elohim many, and masters many,) (6) But to us there is but one Elohim, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Master YHWSHUA Messiah, by whom are all things, and we by him. (7) Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled. (8) But meat commendeth us not to YHWH: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse. (9) But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.
Act 15:29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well, Fare ye well.
6. Choice between YHWSHUA and the writing of Shaul (more like the "Correctors") we MUST choose YHWSHUA!
Professor Nestle (Nestle/Arland Greek Testament) in his "introduction to the Textual Criticism of the Greek Testament" tells us that certain scholars, called correctors, were appointed by the ecclesiastical authorities, and actually commissioned to correct the text of Scripture in the interest of what was considered ORTHODOXY. ""Learned men, so called Correctores were, following the church meeting at Nicea 325 AD, selected by the church authorities to scrutinize the sacred texts and rewrite them in order to correct their meaning in accordance with the views which the church had just sanctioned" (Prof. Eberhard Nestle; Einfhrung in die Textkritik des griechischen Testaments).
If these writings were "Corrected" then perhaps we should seek to find out what the early believers understood and believed about meat and sacrifices to idols! Search writings of Cerdon, Marcion, Athanasius, and Arius, Clement of Alexandria, Origen, Tertullian, Heronymus, Boniface, Jerome, and John Chrysostom, Hegesippus, Eusebius, and even later writings of Augustine, St Basil; St Francis of Assisi; Saint Jerome
The Solution
(22) Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. (23) And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
7. Repent
Mat 4:17 From that time YHWSHUA began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
8. Not that HE would kill them, but the consequence of their actions brings death unto them!!
Rom 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
9. Understand that YHWH looks at our hearts!
Psa 64:6 They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.
Rom 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of YHWH.
Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith YHWH, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their Elohim, and they shall be my people.
10. Reap what you sow
Gal 6:7 Be not deceived; YHWH is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
2Co 9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
Commendation
Rev 2:24-25 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden. (25) But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.
If we can learn and understand the original teachings of the Truth as opposed to the Lies of the False Church that is all that is necessary for us to walk with our Master. But we will need to "Hold Fast" and let nothing turn us away from that Truth!
Conclusion
Rev 2:27-29 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. (28) And I will give him the morning star. (29) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Morning Star - We Must be filled with Light if we are Disciples of the master!
Joh 1:9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
Joh 8:12 Then spake YHWSHUA again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Joh 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
Mat 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.
