Bread

Torah Reading:  Exo 16:3-35

3 And the children of Yisra'El said unto them, Would to Elohim we had died by the hand of YHWH in the land of Mitsrayim, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.

4 Then said YHWH unto Moshe, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.

5 And it shall come to pass, that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.

6 And Moshe and Aaron said unto all the children of Yisra'El, At even, then ye shall know that YHWH hath brought you out from the land of Mitsrayim:

7 And in the morning, then ye shall see the glory of YHWH; for that he heareth your murmurings against YHWH: and what are we, that ye murmur against us?

8 And Moshe said, This shall be , when YHWH shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that YHWH heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against him: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against YHWH.

9 And Moshe spake unto Aaron, Say unto all the congregation of the children of Yisra'El, Come near before YHWH: for he hath heard your murmurings.

10 And it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto the whole congregation of the children of Yisra'El, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of YHWH appeared in the cloud.

11 And YHWH spake unto Moshe, saying,

12 I have heard the murmurings of the children of Yisra'El: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I am YHWH your Elohim.

13 And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host.

14 And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground.

15 And when the children of Yisra'El saw it , they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was . And Moshe said unto them, This is the bread which YHWH hath given you to eat.

16 This is the thing which YHWH hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer for every man, according to the number of your persons; take ye every man for them which are in his tents.

17 And the children of Yisra'El did so, and gathered, some more, some less.

18 And when they did mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating.

19 And Moshe said, Let no man leave of it till the morning.

20 Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moshe; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank: and Moshe was wroth with them.

21 And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating: and when the sun waxed hot, it melted.

22 And it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man : and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moshe.

23 And he said unto them, This is that which YHWH hath said, To morrow is the rest of the kodesh sabbath unto YHWH: bake  that which ye will bake to day , and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.

24 And they laid it up till the morning, as Moshe bade: and it did not stink, neither was there any worm therein.

25 And Moshe said, Eat that to day; for to day is a sabbath unto YHWH: to day ye shall not find it in the field.

26 Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be none.

27 And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none.

28 And YHWH said unto Moshe, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?

29 See, for that YHWH hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.

30 So the people rested on the seventh day.

31 And the house of Yisra'El called the name thereof Manna: and it was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.

32 And Moshe said, This is the thing which YHWH commandeth, Fill an omer of it to be kept for your generations; that they may see the bread wherewith I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth from the land of Mitsrayim.

33 And Moshe said unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it up before YHWH, to be kept for your generations.

34 As YHWH commanded Moshe, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept.

35 And the children of Yisra'El did eat manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan.

Fresh Bread

Mat 6:11  Give us this day our daily bread.

Tam's Can Bread... Mmmmmmmm Mmmmmmmmm

Mat 4:3-4  And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of YHWH, command that these stones be made bread. (4)  But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of YHWH.

Amo 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith The Master YHWH, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of YHWH:

What Bread are we eating?

Mat 16:5-12  And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread.  (6)  Then YHWSHUA said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.  (7)  And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread.  (8)  Which when YHWSHUA perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?  (9)  Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?  (10)  Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?  (11)  How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?  (12)  Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

Fresh Bread? Or Stale "day old" Bread?

Prisoners get old stale Bread... It is a way to keep them demoralized and discouraged... Is this the way we want our Spiritual Life to be? No wonder so many believers are discouraged and down today!

Exo 16:3  And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to Elohim we had died by the hand of YHWH in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.

Job 15:20-23  The wicked man travaileth with pain all his days, and the number of years is hidden to the oppressor.  (21)  A dreadful sound is in his ears: in prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him.  (22)  He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for of the sword.  (23)  He wandereth abroad for bread, saying, Where is it? he knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.

Jos 9:5  And old shoes and clouted upon their feet, and old garments upon them; and all the bread of their provision was dry and moldy.

Hos 2:5  For their mother hath played the harlot: she that conceived them hath done shamefully: for she said, I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, mine oil and my drink.

Isa 55:2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

Daily Provision

Rth 1:6  Then she arose with her daughters-in-law, that she might return from the country of Moab: for she had heard in the country of Moab how that YHWH had visited his people in giving them bread.

Neh 9:15  And gavest them bread from heaven for their hunger, and broughtest forth water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and promisedst them that they should go in to possess the land which thou hadst sworn to give them.

Php 4:19  But my Elohim shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Messiah YHWSHUA.

Psa 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

Psa 132:15 I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread.

Luk 11:1-13  And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.  (2)  And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.  (3)  Give us day by day our daily bread.  (4)  And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.  (5)  And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves;  (6)  For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?  (7)  And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee.  (8)  I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.  (9)  And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.  (10)  For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.  (11)  If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?  (12)  Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?  (13)  If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Set Apart Spirit to them that ask him?

Mat 15:33  And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude?

Bread of Life

(Mat 26:26)  And as they were eating, YHWSHUA took bread, and blessed it, and broke it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.

Luk 24:30,35  And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and broke, and gave to them.  And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.

1Co 10:16-17  The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Messiah? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Messiah?  (17)  For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.

1Co 5:8  Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

1Co 11:26-28  For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show The Master's death till he come. (27) Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of The Master, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of The Master. (28)  But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

Manna From Heaven

Exo 16:3-35  And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to Elohim we had died by the hand of YHWH in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.  (4)  Then said YHWH unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.  (5)  And it shall come to pass, that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.  (6)  And Moses and Aaron said unto all the children of Israel, At even, then ye shall know that YHWH hath brought you out from the land of Egypt:  (7)  And in the morning, then ye shall see the glory of YHWH; for that he heareth your murmurings against YHWH: and what are we, that ye murmur against us?  (8)  And Moses said, This shall be, when YHWH shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that YHWH heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against him: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against YHWH.  (9)  And Moses spoke unto Aaron, Say unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, Come near before YHWH: for he hath heard your murmurings.  (10)  And it came to pass, as Aaron spoke unto the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of YHWH appeared in the cloud.  (11)  And YHWH spoke unto Moses, saying,  (12)  I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I am YHWH your Elohim.  (13)  And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host.  (14)  And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground.  (15)  And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they knew not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which YHWH hath given you to eat.  (16)  This is the thing which YHWH hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer for every man, according to the number of your persons; take ye every man for them which are in his tents.  (17)  And the children of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, some less.  (18)  And when they did mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating.  (19)  And Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning.  (20)  Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank: and Moses was wroth with them.  (21)  And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating: and when the sun waxed hot, it melted.  (22)  And it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses.  (23)  And he said unto them, This is that which YHWH hath said, Tomorrow is the rest of the Set Apart sabbath unto YHWH: bake that which ye will bake today, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.  (24)  And they laid it up till the morning, as Moses bade: and it did not stink, neither was there any worm therein.  (25)  And Moses said, Eat that today; for today is a sabbath unto YHWH: today ye shall not find it in the field.  (26)  Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be none.  (27)  And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none.  (28)  And YHWH said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?  (29)  See, for that YHWH hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.  (30)  So the people rested on the seventh day.  (31)  And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna: and it was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.  (32)  And Moses said, This is the thing which YHWH commandeth, Fill an omer of it to be kept for your generations; that they may see the bread wherewith I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth from the land of Egypt.  (33)  And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it up before YHWH, to be kept for your generations.  (34)  As YHWH commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept.  (35)  And the children of Israel did eat manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan.

Joh 6:30-58  They said therefore unto him, What sign showest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?  (31)  Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.  (32)  Then YHWSHUA said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.  (33)  For the bread of YHWH is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.  (34)  Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.  (35)  And YHWSHUA said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.  (36)  But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.  (37)  All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.  (38)  For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.  (39)  And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.  (40)  And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.  (41)  The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.  (42)  And they said, Is not this YHWSHUA, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?  (43)  YHWSHUA therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.  (44)  No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.  (45)  It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of YHWH. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.  (46)  Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of YHWH, he hath seen the Father.  (47)  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.  (48)  I am that bread of life.  (49)  Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.  (50)  This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.  (51)  I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.  (52)  The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?  (53)  Then YHWSHUA said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.  (54)  Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.  (55)  For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.  (56)  He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.  (57)  As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.  (58)  This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live forever.

Rev 2:17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

Luk 14:15  And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of YHWH.
