Psa 35:1-28  A Psalm of David. Plead my cause, O YHWH, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.  (2)  Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help.  (3)  Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.  (4)  Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.  (5)  Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of YHWH chase them.  (6)  Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of YHWH persecute them.  (7)  For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul.  (8)  Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall.  (9)  And my soul shall be joyful in YHWH: it shall rejoice in his salvation.  (10)  All my bones shall say, YHWH, who is like unto thee, which deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that spoileth him?  (11)  False witnesses did rise up; they laid to my charge things that I knew not.  (12)  They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul.  (13)  But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom.  (14)  I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourneth for his mother.  (15)  But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together: yea, the abjects gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they did tear me, and ceased not:  (16)  With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.  (17)  Master, how long wilt thou look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, my darling from the lions.  (18)  I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people.  (19)  Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause.  (20)  For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land.  (21)  Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me, and said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it.  (22)  This thou hast seen, O YHWH: keep not silence: O Master, be not far from me.  (23)  Stir up thyself, and awake to my judgment, even unto my cause, my Elohim and my Master.  (24)  Judge me, O YHWH my Elohim, according to thy righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me.  (25)  Let them not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have it: let them not say, We have swallowed him up.  (26)  Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonor that magnify themselves against me.  (27)  Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favor my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let YHWH be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.  (28)  And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long. 

 

Keep your joy! 

 

Question: How can we encourage and edify others in the work place (at home, wherever we are) without having the feeling of being pulled down ourselves. I have dealt with anger and hatred in my life, and have gotten more joy, but these circumstances seem to set me back.  

 

Question: How can we keep the Word alive in us when we are studying and allow it to fill us with joy? 

 

Rom 14:17 For the kingdom of YHWH is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Spirit of YHWH. 

 

Some people don't have any joy whatsoever... They are simply miserable people. These people need to begin to see good instead of bad. Always looking at the negative.. Always believing something bad is going to happen to them. This is pure ego!! 

 

These kind of people often believe that their lack of joy is their way to "Suffer for YHWH" .. but this is totally untrue. In fact, it is more true that they don't have a relationship with YHWH at all, just a facade! 

 

Deu 28:45-47  Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of YHWH thy Elohim, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:  (46)  And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed forever.  (47)  Because thou servedst not YHWH thy Elohim with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things; 

 

Happiness - Outward... 

Joy - Inward 

 

Neh 8:10  .... for the joy of YHWH is your strength.  

 

Psa 21:1  To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The king shall joy in thy strength, O YHWH; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!  

 

Joy comes from 

 

Giving 

 

Some don't have joy because they don't give willingly 

 

1Ch 29:9  Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to YHWH: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.  

 

YHWH's Spirit  

 

Act 13:52  And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Spirit of YHWH. 

 

Rom 15:13  Now the YHWH of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Spirit of YHWH. 

 

1Th 1:6 And ye became followers of us, and of The Master, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Spirit of YHWH: 

 

Joh 15:11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. 

 

Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, gentleness, self control 

 

Seeing YHWH's Face (Spending time in HIS word and in Meditation and Prayer) 

 

Job 33:26  He shall pray unto Elohim, and he will be favorable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.  

 

Psa 16:11  Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures forevermore.  

 

Jer 15:16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O YHWH Elohim of hosts. 

 

Joh 16:22 And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you. 

 

Jud 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 

 

Trusting in YHWH! 

 

Psa 32:10-11  Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in YHWH, mercy shall compass him about.  (11)  Be glad in YHWH, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart. 

 

Psa 35:9  And my soul shall be joyful in YHWH: it shall rejoice in his salvation.  

 

Joh 16:24  Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. 

 

Sacrifice of joy! 

 

Psa 27:6  And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto YHWH.  

 

Heb 12:2 Looking unto YHWSHUA the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of YHWH. 

 

Jas 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 

 

1Pe 4:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Messiah's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. 

 

Shout for Joy! 

 

Psa 32:11 Be glad in YHWH, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart. 

 

Psa 35:27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favor my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let YHWH be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. 

 

Psa 66:1  To the chief Musician, A Song or Psalm. Make a joyful noise unto Elohim, all ye lands: 

 

Psa 98:4 Make a joyful noise unto YHWH, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise. 

 

Psa 100:1 A Psalm of praise. Make a joyful noise unto YHWH, all ye lands. 

 

Psa 132:16 I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy. 

 

Inward Peace... 

 

Joh 14:27  Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.  

 

Isa 55:12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. 

 

Detachment 

 

Mat 13:44  Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. 

 

Body = Attachment (Ego keeps us here) - Brings worry, insecurity, impulsiveness, death 

 

·        When we are attached to some person, thing, or worldly matter, no matter what it is, we are controlled by that thing! 

·        If we are attached to things we will experience pain & suffering.  

·        We want to hold on to the known..instead of reaching out to the unknown 

 

Spirit = Detachment - Brings Life, power, we become unlimited 

 

·        Being detached means that we are able to keep our minds above any turmoil or trials of the environment. 

 

Detachment does NOT mean that we are indifferent. We still act on situations, but we trust the outcome to YHWH 

 

It is based on trusting completely in YHWH... knowing that He is always working everything through you and together for your greatest good. We must understand that everything good is from YHWH (Spirit) and nothing at all from self. YHWH works through us and the circumstances in our lives so there's nothing we can hold on to as our own! 

 

Rom 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love YHWH, to them who are the called according to his purpose.  

 

You can't have the pilot and co-pilot controlling the plane at the same time. If we desire to control our lives.. YHWH respects our free will and will give up the control to us for a season until we see that we can't control it ourselves! 

 

Shaul on Detachment - Php 4:11-13  Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.  (12)  I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.  (13)  I can do all things through Messiah which strengtheneth me. 

 

Go with the flow... 

 

Too many focus energy to circumstances they don't like... 

...They feed it as though it is real and eternal  

...Tell ourselves and others stories about events in our lives until we believe them (Rather than the truth - who they are and how YHWH has empowered them by HIS Spirit) 

 

Pro 12:20  Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counselors of peace is joy. 

 

2Co 10:4-5  (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through YHWH to the pulling down of strongholds;)  (5)  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of YHWH, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Messiah; 

 

We can never change anything as long as you focus on the problem!! 

We must focus on what we desire 

 

Pro 15:23  A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it! 

 

Mar 11:22-24  And YHWSHUA answering saith unto them, Have faith in YHWH.  (23)  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.  (24)  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. 

 

We need to believe that YHWH is in control and has a plan! 

 

Heb 11:6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to YHWH must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. 

 

Isa 12:3 Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation. 

 

We can never control circumstances or how others act, but we can control how we allow these experiences to affect us! 

 

Eph 5:15-16  See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,  (16)  Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 

 

Psa 30:5 ...weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.  

 

Isa 35:10  And the ransomed of YHWH shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away. 

 

Isa 61:1-3  The Spirit of The Master YHWH is upon me; because YHWH hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;  (2)  To proclaim the acceptable year of YHWH, and the day of vengeance of our Elohim; to comfort all that mourn;  (3)  To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of YHWH, that he might be glorified.
